Folk Art: "Ribbonwork Appliqué Design/Pattern," Sydney Pursel (grades 6-12)

In this tutorial, students will learn how to create their own tribal patterns inspired by the nature around them or their own personal history and interests. The designs will be made out of construction paper, but students can easily see how these patterns could be repeated to adorn Native American outfits.
