I can't believe I've found you on YT after all these years! I happened to find you on the Shopping Channel years ago when I purchased your VHS and painting supplies. My heart has been to paint but Donna, I am so afraid to begin. I'm at a point that I believe it's for everyone else but not me. How do I begin getting over the MAJOR fear of failure? When I have painted (which is no where near what I would like to) I've had people say that I am gifted. If they only knew the struggle I go through I'm not sure they would say it's a gift. Why do I struggle so much? Is it natural to struggle and be fearful of failure? I'm even wondering if I"m being envious of those who can paint. I think I'm gonna be watching and following along your videos to learn the "tricks" of the trade. Maybe it's no accident I've found you again! Thanks for caring and sharing your gift.

jomamablu honey, I really mean it when I say. Stop take a deep breath and try it again. Don’t get frustrated. Breath and try again. I want you to know if you feel discouraged or have fear. That is so of satan. Heavenly Father wants you to succeed. He will bless you the more you breath and ask for his help to help you do this if you want to. It’s therapy, promise. Love donna

First of all I have to thank you and God bless you for sharing your knowledge. And I think it's fabulous she had 7 kids I wanted six I ended up with two both almost killed me. With that said I had purchased your stuff years ago and then ended up raising grandchildren. So I was unable to actually get into it. And by the time they got old enough or I can share it with them I had gone blind in both eyes is called detail vision I only see tunnel. There is no peripheral. With that said I finally got the courage up few months ago to finally start painting I started with sketching. Because now all's I see is flowers even though I don't see I close my eyes and I see flowers and strokes. I have been diagnosed with the with cancer a bad one. I don't know if that has something to do with it God's trying to prepare me or I don't know but all I know is I see flowers I love love love flowers. I would like to learn to do flowers with hummingbirds because those are my favorite and I thank you so much for your time and for sharing. that's the glory of KZbin you can just keep replaying it. because I have to wear multiple pairs of glasses to try to see anything anymore. Unless I am painting and I don't know why. Thank you Donna bless your heart yes I have all your brushes bought them years ago and I finally get to use them. When it came to the folk art I could not afford all for folk art at the time so I have other brands And that would be the one thing for those of us that can't afford it is if they're I don't know if you're a spokesperson for folk art. But to help us I use other brands because the color names are different that would be the only thing. Thank you and God bless blind in Idaho

So sorry for what your struggling with honey! It must be so hard. I have met a few who are mostly blind but because of the bright colors they are able to still paint and create. Honey you can always get paint at walmart or Michaels even have 50% coupons. Maybe that can help. Other paints are not thick enough to keep them from being muddy

Donna, what kind of paper do you use when you're painting? Does it have to be primed with anything?

T this is just a slick black paper pad. I sell them on my site www.onestroke,com You can basecoat any surface with paint and it is good to paint on. Scrapbook papers etc

Donna I am having trouble finding any of you blending mediums for a good two years. Where are they selling floating mediums or any mediums?

I agree with you. It seems like it use to be so much easier to find. I was able to find it at my local Michaels recently. They had it in two different sizes. But I'm sure if you can't find it there you could try googling it.
