I love John& Hank's friendship& humour, it makes Gospel learning so much fun 😍. Thank you for helping me get that whole "Other Comforter" verse. I've been studying about The Godhead & it's just been beautiful learning of how much we are loved & how they totally work together for our good at the same time leaving us to choose like what Dr Tony said. Verse 40(ntelligence cleaveth into intelligence...)has helped me in selecting friends& media, I try to hang on to light& positive things& loved that you mentioned Elder Holland's talk, "Of Souls, Symbols& Sacrament" .❤❤❤ The new look of that Parable was just WOW!!! We are the 11th hour labourers.. dispensational humility is needed for sure.😅 Thank you Team for all the sacrifices you are making to help me learn, May the good Lord bless you& your families. ❤ Lots of love& covid-safe hugs from Zimbabwe 😊

Question (and maybe I just misunderstood something): Dr Sweat, in referring to verses 3-5 mentioned what the Second Comforter was that was referred to (Christ Himself appearing and conversing with us an that we are working towards that blessing, but in the D&C institute student manual, the quotes with those verses say this does not refer to the Second Comforter, but to the Holy Ghost Himself. Did I misunderstand what Brother Sweat said or does he have more to say? haha. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for asking this question because I was confused as well after listening to this podcast and then reading the quotes in the D&C institute manual which clearly state that the Holy Spirit of Promise referred to in vs. 3 is not the Second Comforter. Please let me know if you get any clarification.

@@stacybriggs4597 I didn't really get more clarification here which was a bummer (I was really hoping Brother Sweat would help me! haha), but when reading further in the D&C manual, in regards to verses 68-69, it says what Brother Sweat said. haha. So, I think it's possible the manual is the confusing one! The quote Brother Sweat read is even there and it refers to verses 3 and 4, even though it's linked with verses 68-69. So, in my digital scriptures I've linked both things. I'm thinking that with time and more study it will become more clear, but I think Brother Sweat is right in what he said, and maybe some of the other quotes with verse 3 were the understanding they had at the time? I'm not 100% sure, but I'm mostly okay with that. I can learn more with time, right? Let me know if you learn more too. :)

Previously when Anthony Sweat has been on this podcast, he's said "You don't do you, you do Jesus." Sentiments of that were expressed in this episode. In my life I say "You do you" as my way to not judge people. Do you have any suggestions on how to change the "you do you" to a "you do Jesus" without being judgemental?

What a sensitive insight! Maybe it would be a good phrase to keep inside of your mind to keep yourself in check but not necessarily vocalize it to other people. Best wishes! 💚

I do remember one of the reasons there was trouble in Missouri . They did not listen to the prophet . I think think they had tickets to go . Not go all at the same time . There was not enough food clothes housing stores etc. except for just the assigned people at first . They were to slowly move into Missouri at their assigned times . Over whelmed by all the people the Missourians did not like that . Again not listening to a prophets directions . Over anxious to go without their tickets of assignment brought in their very first problems . I will never understand why they did not listen to Joseph Smith then complain . That was one of the first things they did wrong . They were suppose to go only at their assigned times .

Question: How do verses 7-9 relate to the many prophecies of the last days that teach that the sun, moon, and stars will be darkened? Is this a sign that the Christ will withdraw his light from the world at some point?

It came to me clearly that Satan was so happy and causing the disunity among the Saints in the two areas. If we. Could be aware of the undercurrent that goes on alll around us Pray always that we aren't fooled.

But wait...haven't we been involved in premortality? I don't want to be too prideful....but I don't think we've been sitting around doing nothing. Our ancestors needed our help during their lives as much as we need theirs. That's my "I believe it's true opinion". 😊
