@@LatterDaily one of my favorite parts was her last verse of the song she did. Being a woman teaching the gospel in the home. Have courage. Being a homeschool mom, I definitely have days of discouragement. This story of Rebekah was beautiful because I can relate in so many ways. I will go and do and the lord will be with me.

This episode is one of my favorites of your series. Makes me choke up with emotion, all the messy humanness intermixed with daring moves to fulfill God's will... culminating in the reconciliation between Esau and Jacob. Perhaps a foreshadow of the reconciliation to come between Jew, Muslim, and Christian at the Saviour's return.

Thank you, Sister CFO! Your insight and especially your passionate praise for women of the scripture really meant so very much to me in this lesson. Especially grateful for the acknowledgement of Keturah! I have gone all my years having to explain my namesake's origins and significance. And I was ever so delighted that Keturah was not "forgotten" in this lesson. I'm convinced that all my name-splaining is due to the fact that many simply "passover", skip, go-unnoticed of her 4 verse mention in our holy writ, when HELLO!?!? She was actually acknowledged by name! I was born and raised in SE TX & SW LA and many have thought my name to be a southern "made up" version or homage to ancestry, when in all actually it's legit Biblical! Many should be so anxious to learn of and REMEMBER Keturah! Thank YOU for remembering her.

I really enjoyed this podcast. I love how she emphasizes that we not assign anyone good or bad. I have had a hard time how we teach about Lot's wife. Has anyone even considered that Lot's wife may have been trying to return to the city to plead with her daughters (and possibly grandchildren) to come with them? When Noah was building the ark, he had many opportunities to plead with his children and grandchildren and others to repent and get on the ark. Lot and his wife did not have that time. I realize she should have obeyed the Lord and left without turning back. But maybe her reasons for turning back were not as shallow as many perceive them to be.

There is always so much more to the stories that we just don't have record of, isn't there? Won't it be so fun when we can finally have all the answers and see all the behind-the-scenes of our favorite scripture stories!?!
@SuperTotoro32 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I think what you suggest is completely possible. I'm humbled as I read scriptures, to learn little by little how wrong many of my assumptions have been, and how patient and gentle God is with us! So grateful for being able to learn 'together'!

@@SuperTotoro3 I too have had many eye opening discoveries. It's beautiful isn't it! So grateful to God who "patiently and gently" leads us along (I loved your wording). I am also so grateful for the scholars who so willingly share their insights and discoveries with us.

Good video. Had to laugh to myself about the two boys in Rebekah's womb. All the commotion going on sounds like two young children in the back seat of the car, Mom he touched me, mom he's looking at me. Started before they were born !

Hahaha that's great! What a struggle they had in the womb to "battle for who was going to go first!"

I wonder if Esau was willing to give up the birthright since he was more of an 'outdoorsman' and legitimately realized it was contrary to his nature to be more of a homebody to care for the clan? Just a thought but personalities play a part in our life's decisions don't they?

so will the hand under the thigh promise be changed to passing the slipper as in the case of Boaz and the next of kin for Ruth and her property? That is how it seems.
