Short, sweet, to the point, no rambling, informative. Nice plane and affordable.

Good find on the rudder horn and rib. When you get those strange feelings go with them !!!!!!

If you go to the sonex 2 seater go for the Jabiru 6 3300 awesome engines. One of the Lads here just Chucked one in his like a lil fighter plane and fits inside the Cowl. Only adjustment on the cowl is new door to check oil. Oh makes sure you use cylinder cowls for cooling and the big 14 inch smiley face as go directly onto the sump. Carry on.

Yeah that’s a good call. The aerovee is a decent budget friendly engine for one person, but as a two place I imagine it’s a bit of a dog. The extra 40-50hp from the jab oughta be a real kick in the pants.

@@LeanofPeakAviation Good for 130knot plus cruise (faster than a Sonerai withe jab) and super smooth. I will send ya couple pics when it,s done his is a Waiex.

I'll second that on the Jab 3300, or at least a minimum 100hp option. Mine's a pig on climbout on a warm day, or any other day, but settles in nicely on cruise. Have only flown 2 examples, each with VWs, but I suspect more power would really bring the airframe up to it's full potential.

@@LeftSeatAdventures I’ve spoken to several people with the bigger engines and it sounds like 120 hp adds a whole lot of smile to your face in these little things. The rotax 912 with the right prop is also a big step up.

Nice plane!!! This one looks like it has an aero-vee engine....

Sweet plane, thanks for the info. Ironically, I'm considering going to a Onex from a 2 seater or just holding out for the High Wing. Decisions....

I’d trade you but Alaska would be quite a challenging ferry! 😉

Omg I am completely interested in an aerobatic onex ... I'm building an RV-8 (vloging on my channel) and looking to fly and train aerobatics in a OneX while building. I do like your videos, keep em coming

Awesome! I’m planning to put it on barnstormers pretty soon. It JUST came back from annual/conditional this weekend and everything looked great. We had the heads off to rethread the spark plug hole and got to look at the cylinders which looked perfect. I should have some more context coming shortly.

You know Sonex actually recommend the RV series for transition training to the Onex. The handle very similarly. In fact I did my Onex transition by flying an RV7 with my instructor and jumping in the Onex for the first flight was a breeze. They are so easy to fly, especially for a tailwheel. Looking forward to watching your progress on the RV!

@@LeanofPeakAviation awesome thank you. I flew an RV-7 and that sight picture was an Eye opener… it’s like you are over the plane looking down.

Rare 'steam gauge' instrument panel for an experimental these days! Didn't see an altimeter! Did this one sell already? $27K is an excellent price! Which engine The Turbo?
@LeanofPeakAviation2 жыл бұрын
There’s a simple altimeter on the right side. The phone may be obscuring it from the camera angle. Simple 80hp non-turbo. Probably won’t sell until winter time. Currently getting its yearly inspection and then I plan to play with it a little more while the weather is good. I’ll advertise on barnstormers when it’s ready to sell.

@@matthewwood4983 Of course I’m paranoid now but I think you’re seeing some dirt and grime that wasn’t thoroughly cleaned off at the point. I was actually at the airport just now and looked at the area you pointed out.

It’s actually getting it’s “annual” conditional at Morisstown Flying Service MOR right now. I’ll probably fly through the nice weather and sell in the winter.
