I think everyone has missed the point of season 11 ending. The ending was to end Dean's codependence tendencies. The writers ended Dean's codependence on Sam by making his except his choice so why would they want to make Dean trade one codependence for another? They didn't. They avoided it by making Dean respect Cas' choices as well even if he didn't agree with them just as he did with Sam. Taking that into consideration if and when Destiel does become canon they will have a healthy relationship that doesn't involve Dean being codependent of Cas and allows Cas to make his own decisions instead of Dean trying to stop Cas from doing what he think is the right choice because Dean is afraid to lose him.

OMG!!! I'm crying because this is soooo beautiful!!! I don't know why some people got upset in the season finale when Dean called Cas "brother", I mean come on! Dean's character has been developing throughout the last seasons and season 11 was one of the most important ones for him, but he's not ready to embrace his feelings, not yet. Besides, Cas is supposed to be asexual, right? So Dean can't know if Cas loves him as a man or just as someone who is very important for him. Dean has never told anyone he loves them (except Mary, I think, but correct me if I'm wrong) and the only love he's ever known is the love he feels for Sam, his brother, so calling Cas "brother" was probably the only way Dean could think of to show him how much he meant for him. I don't see the season finale as a breakdown for Destiel, all the opposite! I'm thrilled to see next season because the "pining for someone" thing isn't over yet. Most people thought that the obvious answer was that he was pining for Amara: WRONG! So, who is the person Dean's pining for? Let me guess: someone who fell from heaven with a sweet puppy face and big blue eyes ;)

YES absoutely agree with you!! it's such a big deal for dean to talk about his feelings, so calling cas his 'brother' and telling him that he's important to him is really really beautiful and i'm glad we had this scene! also because cas' reaction is really interesting! he doesn't look happy about dean's words, he's definitely moved because he knows what dean tries to tell him... and yet he seems kinda disappointed that dean can't say what he really feels... ughh it's so obvious that cas loves dean, and dean loves cas... let's hope that they will adress the 'pining' thing in the next season and let dean more and more embrace his feelings!! :) thanks for sharing your thoughts and spreading positivity

Because romance is dead and people keep moving the goal post on the authors and actors on what they will consider canon, and the fanbase as a whole won't be happy until they swap spit on screen. Which I consider disgraceful. This is romance. This is true, classic romance. We didn't used to need on screen gratification for beautiful storytelling. I consider it canon. There's enough devotion, enough loyalty, enough written points, enough writer and production team shipping, enough... well, everything. It's canon, it's just not physical, or publicly physical depending on your take of it, and they aren't the type for that. Everyone knows who Dean pined for, it wasn't Amara he called out to. It's canon, as long as people stop trying to pin their personal needs for sexuality validation on seeing on-screen consummation FML.

This is ultimately my favourite destiel vid ever. This proves that we were never wrong. That We Destiels fans arent just creating a fabricated non existent love between Dean and Cas. When I first watched your video, it seemed to condense all those feelings, and I cried through the whole thing. You manage to show the hopeful note - their mutual longing and deep affection - as well as the desperate one. Especially the part starting from 3:02 really killed me. It shows why Cas thinks that he is expendable and gave in to Lucifer... I hope that in 11x21 they really show him, once and for all, that he's not expendable and means the world to them, and especially to Dean.
