As followers of Jesus, how are we to respond to the dramatic rise in anti-Semitic language and actions in our culture today? How can we lovingly, thoughtfully and truthfully respond?

Thank you! I was raised by a non practicing Jewish mother. For the most part, we grew up knowing we were Jewish (or part) and not understanding what it meant. After I was born again, I was like, “oh wow!! Thank you Jesus!” Then I see what’s going on now and I’m like, “oh wow! Lord, I need to not hide but be bold for Christ and show love to the Jewish people more than ever before”!!!! Thanks for the video!!

From one Jew to another, YES. And let's hope that this most recent anti-Semitic turn against us (which has caused me to have to leave my home country) will end before more people will be needlessly punished and murdered for their belief in the ONE TRUE G-d. My grandfather had to leave Germany and run for his life. My other side ran from Poland. My generation believed the "never again" adage of the time. Now, I too am running. Sad how history repeats itself. Let's hope it stops before 6 million more of us are murdered - again.

Romans 2:28 "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." Oh wait, now that Congress passed the new "anti-Semitism" law I'm not supposed to quote verses like this.

Abraham was not a jew..
@Jubal.Harshaw5 ай бұрын
You are correct. Abraham never was a part of the tribe of Judah. That came much later. But, the ONE TRUE G-d is eternal and predates even the land of Judah. Abraham's belief in G-d was remarkable. So, Abraham may be amongst the first true monotheist. It is a remarkable conversation!! And, in Judaism it is always okay to disagree and debate! We welcome it! Remember, in Judaism there is no HFB!! Just learning and developing a TRUE personal relationship with G-d and not through any subordinates. You and G-d alone!

God made a covenant with Abraham, made promises to him, which he reiterated with Issac and Jacob and he was circumcised. Thus, he became the first Jew.
@Jubal.Harshaw5 ай бұрын
@@lemongate4869 It doesn't really matter what you label him as long as you realize that he was important in the realization of the rest of the world that his covenant was and always is secure in the ONE TRUE G-d. If you wish to CALL him a Jew long before the land of Judah (which is where the term "Jewish" and "Jew" comes from), that's fine with me. It's simply a label. It may be an inaccurate label, but a label none the less that simply serves the purpose of identification with a particular important group of people and believers. What many Christians (and other religious affiliations) fail to realize is that the 'Holy Land' was initially split into two parts, north and south. ONLY the south was referred to as 'Judah' whereas the north was simply called 'Israel'. If you were of the strict monotheistic Mosaic covenant and lived in the north - you were an Israelite. If you lived in the south - in the land of Judah, you were considered a Jew. The north was pretty much wiped out as a religious institution and the priesthood fled to the south and little of it remains today. Judah is the ONLY very tiny remnant. Was Abraham a precursor to the Jewish faith? Certainly. Was he a 'The First Jew' from the land of Judah... ahhh, no.

Obviously you have the right to criticize the actions of a foreign government, but how well do you actually know the history and circumstances around this conflict? Do you know for instance that 85-90% of the "Palestinians" are Sunni Muslims and that it is actually a stated holy mission of theirs to wipe out Jews? Sahih Muslim 2922. Do you know that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem (Islamic Palestinian religious leader) sided with Hitler during WW2 and sought to expel/eradicate all Jews from the area before Israel was even created? Did you know that Christians used to make 1/5th of the population of the Middle East, now that has gone down to only 5% in a century? "Christian persecution in the Middle East reaching "genocide-like" levels" - BBC 3rd May 2019. No fun being from a minority in the Middle East.

Judaism is indeed very special and in Judaism one is Jewish if & only if born to a Jewish mother (not if actually practicing / believing / living religiously like you mentioned in the beginning). It is the strongest identity of all religions as one can't just become Jewish (unless converts which is very hard, takes a few years of very hard work and as we see nowadays doesn't come with any benefits so very few do convert..). It also has the longest ancestral lineage. Our ancient priestly Cohen lineages directly descended from those serving in the Holy Temple of Jerusalem ~80 generations ago. The common values between Judaism and Christianity are basically same that it is amazing and always heartwarming to see. Esp thesedays with what we go through in Israel, very hard. God bless & love from Jerusalem 🇮🇱❤

As a practicing Jewish man myself, I respectfully disagree with many of your points here. I have brought many people out of the grim darkness of other faiths and no faith at all to Judaism's joy and loveliness. Though SOME Rabbis like to stretch the conversion process to years out of FEAR of outsiders and outside anti-Semitic influence, it is not true across the board. It is true, we as Jews have learned to be a fearful people out of sad necessity - but it hasn't always been this way and it need not be this way today if you associate with the correct rabbi. (Rabbi Asher Meza may be a good place to begin.) If you are already Jewish by heritage, there is no requirement to 'convert' - only to participate, learn our customs and beliefs and COMMIT to the higher learning of Torah - not just the children's version taught in all Christian Sunday Schools. The 'benefits' that you state you do not see are immeasurable as I have listed in my 35 point comment here. PLUS, you attain a higher level of understanding of the ONE TRUE G-d and how to develop a personal relationship with Him - something NOT taught in any other religious organization or school. It is more beautiful than our imagination can paint. Though there is common ground between Judaism and Christianity, the levels of learning and understanding of how Hebrew scripture (yes, even read in English) applies to our understanding of living our lives is beyond any scope of description on a page. I have had MANY Christians inquire as to my faith and after teaching them about the TRUE interpretation of biblical scripture have often cried tears of joy and come to synagogue to learn more. There is never any force or requirement to convert. Just come and learn. Not so tough. Don't kid yourself, at least take it upon yourself to learn Torah's meanings and application to everyday life. No, you don't HAVE TO LEARN HEBREW to do that! Come and have FUN with it! There is no pressure, no hate and no HFB. Only laughter and enjoyment. Guaranteed!

@@Jubal.Harshaw Judaism has always been the furthest thing from a missionary religion seeking conversions. It is not out of fear, but because it goes against the very nature of Judaism as an identity passed down through an unbroken maternal lineage. This is why there are relatively few Jews globally, not to mention the tragedies of our history - and in this regard the no benefits I mentioned, as you know in every generation there are those who rise up to destroy us - this is part of the Jewish experience from the beginning of times. Yet the eternal nation persists, however small, for we are the people God chose as His own. So while I appreciate your zeal, the traditional Jewish view remains that one does not simply become Jewish out of personal preference, only by birth or an extremely thorough conversion process. Re enjoying and having fun - indeed! The Torah was given to the Jewish people to serve as a guiding light for all nations, so we do welcome everyone who wants to enjoy it and learn from it and find inspiration in its profound beauty and eternal wisdom. It is truly a treasure!
@Jubal.Harshaw5 ай бұрын
@@cohenliat Lets break this down a bit: Judaism was once a very much touted and inviting religion to outsiders. I am not certain about your Christian terminology of "missionary'. These Christian terms fail to describe how exactly it presented itself to outsiders - but 'missionary' fails to deliver. I certainly would never consider myself a 'missionary' though I do volunteer to explain to Christians (and others) where they misunderstand both Torah and Gospel scripture. Like I stated earlier, many decide on their own to pursue further Torah studies some to the extent of conversion and others not. I am NOT a Rabbi, nor will I ever lead others to believe so - but I grew up with Torah and I've also read the 'New Testament' and I regularly teach Torah studies in shul. I welcome anyone from any faith or background to come and learn - no false pretenses whatsoever - only the desire to learn and not debate. So, there is a personal preference involved in the conversion process. If a person wants - as I stated in an earlier post - to come to know and develop a personal relationship with G-d through proper study of Torah, then it is possible. That's all it takes, not a blood test for the Cohen marker or an in-depth study into one's past and matrilineage, but rather just a burning interest and desire to come to know G-d and His commandments. That's it. During the Roman period and before Judaism was very inviting to outsiders who presented as wanting and willing to learn. A different set of principles were adhered to then and it only came to an end when the Romans starting killing us in large numbers. That was the beginning of the end of the very inviting nature of conversions. But, by and large, more individuals converted to Judaism during that period than ever before or since. It wasn't that much different prior to that and we welcomed both visitors and converts from various religions (cip: The Book of Ruth as an example.) It is still that way in SOME countries and there seems to be an inverse correlation between countries where feminism is on the rise and rates of conversions to Judaism. Other correlations exist as well. It may be of interest to you to go back and study the rates of conversion to Judaism during and before the Roman empire and I think you will likely change your mind. Again, Rabbi Asher Meza has an entire ongoing diatribe on the subject if you are truly interested. It is generally accepted both biblically and historically that Judaism was a patrilinage society and has only recently (by contrast) changed into a matrilineage and for obvious reasons. Yes, Judaism exist as a culture AS WELL AS a religion. But what sets it apart from all other religions is its personal nature and relationship with the monotheistic G-d - not through any proxies or multi-personage process but directly with the creator through the revelations of Torah. It sounds like there may have been quite a bit missing in your past as far as your Jewish education. Perhaps now you will take the time to renew your interest and your one-on-one relationship with the creator of the universe. I encourage you to do so. Yes, it is fun!!

God said in Genesis 12 that He would bless Abram .He did not say He would bless the nation of Israel or to bless those who bless Israel. This is the lie we hear constantly in Zionist churches. The people in Israel are Caucasian, European prostyle Jews, not true Jews by the blood of a Jewish mother. 80% of Israelis are secular, atheists. In 70 AD God through Titus' Roman army destroyed the temple and Jerusalem and took the Jews captive where they then were scattered across the earth. This is called the diaspora. If God had wanted the temple to remain no power on earth could have destroyed God's house. God wanted it destroyed because the Jews rejected Christ and nailed Him naked to a cross.
