This strat should be upgraded with: 1. Lich as first hero (dk as second, depends on game). Lich with orb, unlimited mana with necro-buffed ranged attack works great with necro push. 2. Plague unless you play vs other undead. 3. Statue to recover mana/health. 4. Defense upgrades (skeletons become much stronger) 5. Abominations to make enemy busy (and plagued)

And what i didn't say is how to counter :) 1. FE / Push or just push. At early game UD can't do anything. 2. HU: Mortars -> Gryphons / AM-Blizzard / BM-Burn NE: Mass fairies / wisp-dispell -> Chims + Staff (do not waste money for arch / driads) / Panda / Pitlord Orc: Raiders / Bats / Wyverns + Shamans

I wonder if keeping the stock necromancer (no mage upgrade) would have worked better? You'd have all melee skeletons vs archers dryads, maybe grab Dreadlord as 3rd hero for sleep / surround + vamp aura for all those melee skeletons 🤔

Now I see why you stopped all HOTS content. Blizzard just pulled the plug on the entire competitive scene screwing over a lot of players, casters, and the community as a whole. Good luck with Warcraft, I enjoyed your HOTS videos but understand why you switched.

Necrowagon is lame they say... yet the NE player had faerie dragons, detonating wisps, dryads, and forked lightning but still got swamped. Grubby shows us that good micro makes it work despite counters...

It's pretty common knowledge that level 1 hero deaths are no big deal, unless your strategy is under massive time constraints

When I played this game, I mained this startegy except for mirror matches. against Night elf I used to go dark ranger (silence wisps) and dreadlord) swarm wisps) without wisps, NE don't have the tools to destroy your skeletons.... You make fun of it, but it was a very viable strategy and I played over a 1000 games myself then. GG anyway

It took your skill level, Grubby... to pull that off because of all the extra Micro involved. An average player like myself would have added Aboms around the 10-12 minute mark, making that Strat much easier to manage overall.

If he got mountain giants and the tier 3 armor upgrade, he could sorta ignore the undead summons. Sucks that NE form of mass dispel costs gold and is easy to micro against though. Also how do you counter that wisp harass?

Stop the wisp harass by not storing all your wisps in your main and spread them across the map. Also wisp detonate is strong dude. His opponent just failed multiple times on critical detonates.

it is a corpse from the graveyard. randomly there are fiends besides ghouls if i remember correctly (havent played in ages)

Maybe he was trying to go hippoarchers? Hunts and dryads both die quickly to siege and skeleton mages. Faerie dragon was the way to go but there wasn't enough of them and Grubby simply moved his army back whenever mana flare was active. MGs and Bears could be good but kiting is still a problem. Potm was a poor choice vs mass skeletons.

Fun game and congratz grubby but NE player countered necros so terribly. Just do mass fearie dragons and wisps and take alchemist as 3rd. They would level up easily from skeletons. Add chimeras later.

He was super tight on gold and didn't upgrade, plus his meatwagons can dish out maybe 1-2 shots before being killed. Deathpact wasn't an option because he's too low level and needed as much in aura and lvl 2 coil. This wasn't a game where he needed the DK to tank. Dark ranger would be good with the silence, most people didn't think of that when it comes to silence...but wisps were too spread out for silence to be utilized solely for a 2nd hero. Alchemist was meant to keep hp up on everyone since there's so many archers and forked lightning happening.

Only last-hitting team gets experience on any kill. In this case neutrals get experience but there's no heroes to absorb the experience. If you ever create a custom map with a neutral hero in place you can notice it leveling up from killing your units.

Yes skeles feed xp. But wisps are very pricey indeed and NE will find itself digging their roots searching for their coin to buy more wisps from cenarius
