I am loving these hero only challenges! I'd love to see a similar genre explored - Heroes and support units only! You can get as many heroes as you want, and casters and things like kodos/statues, but no units that are primarily used for attacking. Having full caster support on heroes would be pretty cool!

@BrettBR through exteeeensive play time he just knows how much any unit hits for, how quickly they can hit, and how that translates into damage taken for his hero. It's all part of his micro skills.

What if in WC4 you can fly your Necropolis like a command center in SC? And whenever it's parked it drops blight. I mean, they're flying buildings in WoW. It would make sense.

Reminds me of a strat I used in the early days of FT. Go Ud, build an early gravy yard and tomb, don't stop producing acolytes or ghouls, Train a CL, and go with beetles, buy a rod. Use the corpsed from the graveyard to make skele with the rod and beetles. Go and rush with everything except for 5 acolytes to keep mining

Lone wolf is too OP. Glass Cannon all the way, even for solo runs. Don't get me wrong, GC is also powerful af but at least it makes you think and you won't have almost 2 stats maxed by the end of Act 1 assuming you got max exp and is lvl 9 before going on Lady Vengeance.

i think it wouldve been smarter to unspec beetles after the initial creeping, part of the "strength" of solo hero is keeping the enemy heroes low level by not feeding anything i feel like, respeccing to impale + carapace at lvl 4 i think wouldve gone smoother, even though their only melee units were heroes, the armor + saving all your mana for impales only wouldve allowed you to do more i'm pretty sure

Not sure about that -- the Beetles were useful both as meat shields and as Sacrificial Dagger fodder, even after creeping was no longer an issue.

The urban myth of clicking to make production go faster is a misunderstanding of the difference between the code that initializes progress bar and the code that updates it. My friend told me this as well, and I explain that if you keep a build the select the code that updates the progress bar is different to the code that draws it the first time you click on a building. Creating the illusion the progress bar is going quicker if you click off and on quickly. So at a guess the difference is when click a building it calculates proportion of the actual progress to draw bar, when you keep build selected it has a pre-calculated increment for the visual. The pre-calculated increment probably underestimates the actual progress count.

Granted I am old and have not played this game in a long time at this point and so I wouldn't be surprised if I lost to something like this now....but I can't imagine losing to strategies like this back when I played WC3 all the time 15 or 16 years ago, even though I was not a very good player even at my best.
