I can’t understand why no one is talking about the state of New Zealand Cricket? Why was it that they didn’t play their first game in the WC till a week after the tournament started where some teams had already played 2 games and now after 2 defeated games to Afg and WI they still have 2 games to play but can’t qualify for the super 8’s

As usual, some pretty subpar hindsight analysis from Harmison. England didn’t need pace on this wicket, they needed their seamers to bowl more off pace. The Aussies worked that out and bowled alot of cutters and into the pitch deliveries and they had success with it. These guys are fixated too much on the 2nd over but if Jacks had got a wicket, people would be saying it was a captaincy masterstroke.

wait a min but you never said the same about slow pitches in india..oh you still think england owns cricket,, Got it

Only way to score runs in this NEW YORK pitch is playing with STRAIGHT BAT . Hitting the ball in MID ON and MID OFF area . More safe bet and less risky way .

England will qualify from here on. they only need to win both games by 25 runs, and Scotland must lose by approximately 20 runs, which i think is quite likely

" you gotta bowl your fast bowlers first" ...remind me again how many wickets those express bowlers who were going to blow Scotland apart took ? 🤔

Agree - too much India bashing

I hate India in cricket but not pakistan, its not about colonialism its because Indian cricket dominates the domestic scene and they have the biggest voice in the ICC as a result. And the ICC has not done enough to grow the game

@@joebowden4065I hope you hate the BCCI for their role in world cricket and not the Indian players and fans.

They probably hate the BCCI, which has hijacked the sport for its own selfish gains. They probably also hate some Indian fans (who behave like rabid dogs, and have the same level of intelligence , nuance and knowledge as a pubic-hair does). But there's no way they hate Indian cricketers. Just listen to them heap praise on Bumrah's skills (even if he bowled 2 very hittable full-tosses). Hope that gives you some perspective.

@@joebowden4065 england did f&%^ all in the last 40 years before BCCI rose. Australia as well did nothing and still is the most useless of the big 3 in cricket.. All those decades you do absolutely nothing, infact india had to snatch the world cup away from england. Why is the WTC only in england? Dont bother answering lmao.

Bashir going to Worcester short term is good for all. For Worcs it helps fill the devastatingly sad loss of Mr Baker. Somerset give a player 1st team game time & Bash gets to hone his skills with different coaches. You saw in the county game were Jack Leach returned that at this point in county cricket he is way ahead of Bash, so it is difficult for Somerset to pick him over Leach. When Leach goes to play test cricket Bash will get his chance in the Somerset first XI, and I hope he takes it. A common sense move for all.

Even if they hadn't bowled Jacks the scoreline wouldn't be very different

Yes, much better than the IPL batting friendly borefest. The players cannot criticise the pitches! Why is Big Brother listening? (1984 Orwell)
