Another bread crumb I heard. We know that Lilia regularly shouts out words or phrases of divination from time to time. I can't remember which episode but one of these were "get it off me"? Was this in response to the future when the demon was latched onto Lilia's shoulders?

Agatha gave Jen the pep talk she needed last episode. This one she made Alice understand about her mom's song being a protection spell. Almost by accident, Agatha is becoming the leader of her "coven".

I think Rio attacked teen because she said she was feeling impatient. She asked Agatha why she brought him and probably wanted to see how Agatha would react if something happened to teen. Teen was thrown by the same type of wind magic that Rio used in her fight with Agatha during the second episode. Also if Rio is death the she heard they were having a party from Sharon. When Agatha was looking over Sharon’s body she said “I didn’t think you had it in you” as in magical potential. They were able to conjure the road because Sharon was a witchy enough person.

I wondered if Rio did that to Teen, but it seemed the demon was flying around at that point and since Teen wasn't part of the Coven, it perhaps made him more susceptible to the curse. I do like the idea of Rio doing that to Teen to test Agatha though. That would be cool!

Another Reason I don't think Mrs. Davis had to be Rio to open the gateway is that Agatha explains that in any 3 mile radius theres enough witchy-enough people to form a coven and while it would be wise to take a real green witch so you can pass that trial, Mrs Davis is still an older woman with a green thumb and a knack for gardening and like Teen explains, witchcraft isnt just magic its also the knowledge and "craft" of doing it. Which i think Mrs. Davis qualifies plenty for, hence being A witchy-enough gardener to be a stand in green witch to open the path

You have to wonder if Agatha is extremely literal with her words. Agatha is asked how many witches left the road and she says one but we already see Sharon and Teen not being witches able to access the road so I wonder if Agatha said she left with 1 witch because it’s possible someone other than a witch left with her. 🤔

I think the fact that they opened the road with Sharon instead of Rio was a callback to earlier when Agatha is describing how to form a coven with "witchy enough" people. She's obviously an avid gardener with lots of little secrets, like how to get the fluffiest azaleas, and maybe that's kind of an earthly green witchy power? I mean, teen even talks about "analogue magic", magic without powers, at the start of the second episode. Just knowing the craft, how to make potions, etc.

I don’t know if anyone has pointed this out, but Rio means river in Spanish and Vidal is derived from vida which means life. Maybe it’s a reference to one of the rivers of the underworld and how Rio is in charge of taking souls to hell.

The river of styx, she is the grim reaper. Agatha seems be like the hippo in Moon Knight (Taweret): a Deity for children. She might have accidently let a child of Mephisto pass a threshold into an afterlife. Reminds me of the movie 'Dogma' . Angels cast out of heaven, looking for a loophole to get back to heaven.

When Lilia says "get off me!" In episode 2, in episode 3 Sharon wonders off and gets tangled in tree branches. She yells "get off me" and fails her arms around, similar to how Lilia did in her shop when she had the vision. As a Divination witch, Lillia seemingly gets glimpses of the past/future and sometimes she channels what people have/will say/do. If you listen closely, prior to whenever Lilia Divines something, there's a soft bell like chime (when she meets Jen and says "high priestess", when she's in the Rock house and says something along the lines of "which is it? Am I crazy or am I kooky?") I read some interpretations that's she's channeling the dead, but I feel it's more likely she's speaking/Divining moments that will happen in the future. Foreshadowing what's to come for them as a group, alongside other clues like the Road foreshadowing the Trials.

I actually think Rio and Agatha were on the road together, Rio was the one witch that also survived. At the end of the road, Rio was given more power in the form of Death and Agatha was given the Darkhold, but Rio’s first orders as Death was to take Nicky. So then the rumors started that she sacrificed her baby. Bc she emerged without her son but with the Darkhold. And I wonder if Rio placed the sigil on Nicholas to hide him. His soul merged with Teen and the sigil transferred. Notice how Rio looks at teen when he’s dying, like she’s remembering something.

17:37 another interesting/sad detail i noticed with the songs listed is that track 5 is "swan's song," a phrase for someone's final performance before retirement or, in this case, death...she knew she wasn't gonna beat the curse yet she still did everything she could to protect her daughter :(

Rio Vidal. River of Life. If she ferries souls into death, it could be a reference to the river Styx. From the perspective of the dead in the underworld, the Styx would be the river of life. I don’t know if it’s specifically included in marvel comics, but that imagery from Greek mythology slots very well into Rio’s persona.

Lilia says "get it off me" in this episode when she is on the ground as Alice puts a protection circle on her it fits better than it what Sharon said and with Agatha's trial sometimes with the elements spirit is the 5th one and that could easily be the Halloween-themed 80s house we see in the trailers where we see Agatha possessed.

This was defiitely my favourite of the show so far and that whole Vidal anagram was neat too. I agree with you that Rio was pretending to be Sharon for sure. That's an interesting idea for the ending images, I guess we'll see. The top image on the back of the Tator is clearly the moon itself that we see on the center of the door. I also took the red to represent "Blood Witch" not Fire given Alice is the Blood Witch. Also I just noticed on the imagery of how to unalive witches, the first kind of looks like Wanda. I also missed the eyes on the mask, creepy. On the subject of the Tarots, I've heard Lilia has apparently stated some of the words on them? I actually saw the Umbrella symbol from Resident Evil in the red and blue colours. Someone also wondered what the song being played sounded like in reverse or if it was just nothing if you reversed the audio (in the episode). To be fair I missed the glance in Teen. Also I absolutely love Lorna's version of the Ballad, it's so good. I missed the purple colour on the exit too, nice detail. The "Magick" spelling is a very interesting detail but is a real spelling of the word to distinguish rituals from stage magic. I do wish we hadn't gotten those leaks a while back but it seems to me based on your video that there would have been hints towards Rio's identity. I think it's possible she's Lady Death since they do seem to be slowly bringing in the cosmic entities.

I agree, I wish that Funko leak hadn't happened and even more so, I wish I hadn't thought it was a real promotional reveal and not a leak. I would never have mentioned it if I thought it was a leak, but similar to the tarot cards, I thought it was something Marvel wanted us to see. Ugh. I won't be fooled again, dern it!

While i am 100% sure Rio is Obviously Lady Death (The physical embodiment of death itself who in the comics fell in love with both Thanos and Deadpool) I also think that just like how between bodies and souls how teen may be a mix of Billy and Nicholas, I think SHE may be a mix of lady death AND could also be revealed as Mephistos daughter, a genderbent version of his son from the comics "Blackheart"... while I could see her just being lady death and that would be fine with me the two "black heart" mentions and the mephisto name drop are enough to make me think she should be both and it kind of works for me, that since hes "the devil" his child could be the embodiment of death/the grim reaper, i could also see that just being what was supposed to be a misdirect though where in the first few episodes they want us to think shes Blackheart and then it could be a bait and switch reveal that shes death, obviously we kind of already know shes death though so the bait and switch kind of got overshadowed if that was their plan. Side note, I like all the fun hints dropped so far like her saying she was "in the neighborhood" which is a clue because Mrs. Davis had just died thus "death was near" (which is why I think Mrs. Davis really was just Mrs. Davis and not Rio) But also the idea that a witch like Agatha has almost been killed so many times its as if she "flirts with death" literally

On value of the divinations, might at least some of them help? Her saying "I love you guys" that comes from after the second trial, but doing it at the start of the first trial might have helped them open up enough to avoid a worse fate.

I love the idea about Rio being Mrs. Hart, it would make sense why she run over Teen in the first episode! And obviously why the road open. Also I love the character of Lilia, she's giving us spoilers in our faces haha but I also think that if Rio is Death or represents Death I think that Lilia knows her because she see her in her visions! And I think that's because why she said to Rio "I don't forget what you said" And omg I think when I saw Agatha's and Rio love story it would break my heart, I almost cry in this episode 😭 I didn't think about the meaning of the phrase but I think that Rio don't want to give Agatha false hope about Teen being Nicholas, so that's because she tell her, that Teen isn't her boy because she didn't want Agatha to get hurt again 😢 I love the series so far and I love this breakdowns, I can't wait for next week usually the 5 episode it's one of the best or the one who tell us more, we'll see! 🎉

At D23 the 1st verse of the Ballad of the Witch's Road was omitted from the performance and "if sun be gone" was sung. The chant version that was in episode two included the 1st verse and replaced the line "if sun be gone" with if one be gone." Though the captions still included the earlier version of the line.

Ah, perhaps that explains what happened. I just thought it was so ironic for them to be arguing over the lyrics in the show while at the same time, we as fans are confused by the "one" vs. "sun" lyric. Art imitating life yet again!

According to calligraphy in naming of episodes, EP 5 for Agatha's trial as per purple hints, EP 6 for Lilia's feels like air is highlighted, and lastly EP 6 for Rio, Aas ground texture is visible in that episode, also episode 7 could be a flashback as in library schedule that is in same purple color as in episode 1 and 2.

The witch end credit image is for Vertigo, one of the members of the Salem Seven (The one with bees coming out of her mouth in the trailers). The Westview end credit image is still a mystery. Also, I love how they’ve managed to sprinkle in hints throughout the series so far to Rio’s true identity. It really makes this series fun to watch.

I also had the thought that Rio being "not allowed" to kill agatha in episode 1 may have something to do with the lock of hair in her broach locket, maybe when they were together Rio gave her it as a promise or agatha took it as insurance and maybe putting it in her broach turns her broach into a kind of protective horcrux where as long as shes wearing it or as long as the hair is in it agatha is immune to death? Maybe Rio gave it to her when agatha went down the road the first time for protection and thats why agatha is so apathetic and haphazardous about the trials and cheating, because she knows she won't die anyways, Idk just a thought maybe the hair was only in it in wandas spell and in reality she was just carrying a barrett around or something and im just overthinking it all lol maybe its a lock of Nicholas' hair? Idk he wouldn't have that much hair as a baby though id think

@breonacalvert while its true he MIGHT not have been a baby his room in her house is in her mind under wanda's spell and could just represent her grief of having lost him, nothing else in the library or police station was real just imagination, so the awards and toys and trinkets might not be either, the way i see it that's just how her brain chooses to physically manifest her trauma, not necessarily proof he actually did all those things. However the baby carriage was also a hallucination so maybe he was somewhere in between, it's also possible they're both just representations and he could've been much older or closer to teens age and also been the 1 other witch that she actually finished the road with last time. Who knows only time will tell

Usually with some injuries, the pain may not even register immediately and this may be augmented by the adrenaline of the trial. Then during the trial, the adrenaline of the injury may have worn off, making him aware of the glass.

That’s a great point… I suspect that Teen was really into the moment and didn’t notice it for a while. Also, even if he did notice it, I suspect he wouldn’t tell anyone because he was so intent on solving the trial. Teen gained even more respect in my book for how he was willing to take one for the team in this episode. That was really impressive!

I think Rio is definitely "Death" and came there because Mrs. Heart died, not because of that little ritual. (she even knows the teen is not child of Agatha, how can she know this knowledge while teen is under a sigil. assuming she has over power for these kind of situations. Agatha knew her abilities. she manipulated Rio to make her say if she's relation with the teen. we can understand Rio is manipulated by her feelings to tell the truth. Because, when scene is over, Agatha smirked, didn't kiss her and left with her little achievement) Also, I assume the hidden green witch is teen and even if he doesn't know now. Let's remember ep. 2, when the ballad song has ended, the door hasn't been appeared, directly. Then, teen ran away to the basement. And the door has appeared on that second. Because, the coven is completed when he came down there.

I saw an interesting theory about Lillia’s clairvoyance! The theory is that her clairvoyance powers are intertwined with Quantum energy giving her Quantum Magick. In episode 2 we see her hands glow with faint yellow energy, too. It’s possible her random outbursts are her mind using “divination” (or Quantum Magick) to jump around in her own timeline. Her conversational responses to something that hasn’t happened yet would make more sense that way too. Maybe her mind has quickly jumped forward or backwards to a conversation she will be having with/about this person, and so her response won’t make sense in the current conversation she’s having, but if we find the conversation she THINKS she’s having, it will match up and make sense. I don’t think it needs to be a direct quote, either. Like you said, her saying “get off of me” would fit perfectly in the conversation after they slide down from the leaving the first challenge and they are all piled on each other. Her saying “I love you” would fit perfectly after what she says at the bonfire. I guarantee there will be a situation soon where she NEEDS to say “Alice Don’t!” But she doesn’t say it because she technically already has, just in the wrong time frame. I also think Rio made Teen fly through the glass, not the demon. Maybe she wanted to see how Agatha would react. P.S. I also will continue to believe Rio was pretending to be Mrs. Hart, even if it never comes to fruition 😂 and I’m SO BUMMED they killed her before the 70’s episode! That would’ve made an amazing callback to Mrs. Foreman!!!

Very cool theory about the source of Lilia's divination powers. That's my head canon for sure! And I agree, it is very possible that Rio knocked Teen through the glass. And yeah, not having Mrs. Hart be there for the 70's episode was a crime against humanity...lol!

If Rio is Death, the line 'the boy does not belong to you' could also imply something else. Specifically, if it is interpreted as 'the boy does not belong to *you*', it may suggest that he belongs to Rio instead. Or more specifically, that he is already in the domain of death. It's a skinny theory as of yet, but one thing I think supports that idea is that Teen has been guiding the witches an awful lot. He reminded them of the craft, he told them to bring Sharon along, he brought the summoning spell for Rio, he reprimanded them and corrected them when they began to pass blame between themselves for Sharon's death, he found the start of the trial of fire... "If one be gone, we carry on, *spirit as our guide*" EDIT: OH, also forgot: Agatha calls Rio a 'tourist' on the Witches' Road, suggesting that she may not exactly be a proper witch. Potential extra point for the 'Rio is death' theory.

Super long comment ahead, apologies 🤐 - Rio: I thought she was Mrs. Hart as well, Rio is River in Spanish, so I think it's quite interesting that "Mrs.Hart's" body is floating in the water that looks like a river (too dark?). Vidal is also quite ironic as it comes from Life/Vida if Aubrey is playing Lady Death or Death. A spider is also a weaver so this could also indicate that Rio "weaved" all of the things happening here (including the sigil...maybe?). And, "THE Green Witch" Exorcist moment right here, I love it. - As for the credits, the one of the witch with a green mask was filled in in episode 2, I think its the leader of the witches that wants to get to Agatha who's wearing a mask. I think they will have their moment in Lilia's trial. - The trial: Fleetwood Mac references all around, Alice seeing her mom's reflection I feel is a call back to "Landslide" by them. Alice as the Fire witch / Knight of Wands/ Protector her trial is to go down to Hell to face her demon / biggest fear which her own power. Very Dante and beautiful. - Teen: now I'm just going on a limb here but how he fell after he plowed through the song reminded me of The Doors and Jim Morrison, he was very into William Blake and spoke of The Door to the other side/death's door in his poems (super rusty on that but that's the general idea). Teen was the first to want to open the Road so that kind of fits? When Rio says "That boy isn't yours" it could also imply "your's anymore" but I'm on the fence on that.

I think the way the doctor bound Jen without magic was to take away her confidence as a witch. He placed a mental block on her magic either by driving her out of the obstetrics community or by ruining her reputation. A powerful witch outshining the doctors of the time would be “inconvenient” as he called her. Confidence is a running theme in many of these episodes especially with Jen and Alice.

I wouldn't be surprised if the timelines match up, Nicholas Scratch may have something to do with the doctor that bound Jennifer. If his soul was claimed by Mephisto, he might have provided the ability to lock down a powerful woman in a patriarchal society. The generational curse might also be the collection of descendants that resulted from a deal. Also good likelihood Agatha searched for power at first because she wanted to save his life, but the deal claimed him anyway.

I think Teen is Billy Kaplan, a teenager who died in a westview car accident like his credit page says "Near death in west view". In the comics after master pandemonium reclaims Billy and Tommy's souls, they eventually find new bodies to inhabit. I believe when the hex dropped, their souls still remained, and Billy Maximoff found the body of a dead teen named Billy Kaplan, and revived as him, making it a " near death". With his mom gone and no mentor he trained himself in witchcraft and wrote his spell book with the Internet's help. Then when Wanda died (she's really most sincerely dead) he felt it like he felt Visions pain in WandaVision, and he started searching for magic to bring her back and learned of the witches road and that Agatha was the only known witch to return from it. He broke into her house to find information on the road, but was caught and put in the closet. He decided he needed her help but couldn't risk her learning his motives or his real identity so he cast the sigil on himself. The other witches say it was an amateurish spell witches rarely use, but he's an amateur who didn't know that. He broke Wanda's spell to release Agatha, and convinced her to help him. He doesn't recall the sigil spell even though he cast if. Wanda will return when teen finishes the road's trials. Mephisto getting name dropped seemed to upset him because Jen was smack talking Agatha's dead child and he knows first hand how much a mother would do for her child. Mephisto's name and the sigil shape are just teasers meant to distract us. The real villain will be Rio because if she gets a wish it will involve killing everyone so she can have her murderous girlfriend back and all to herself. Just my theory, and I can't explain his black fingers yet, but it was not from finger printing. There was no jail and nobody booked him, so the black smudges are something else...

RE: teen. I think Wanda put the sidgil on Teen because she needed the next most powerful witch (Agatha) to protect her son and to help him see his potential in her abscence. Remember at the end of WandaVIsion, The Scarlet Witch said, "If I need you, I'll know where to find you." Am I crazy about this? That's why I think he's Billy Kaplan.

My theory is Jen has blocked herself. The high priestess represents hidden power, hidden knowledge, and listening to one’s intuition. So somehow this man made her doubt herself. We saw her self-doubt in the second episode. She needs to trust in herself and believe in her own instincts. Then she will realize she still has access to her power.

It makes me think that he’s some kinda vampire or werewolf, since all we know he doesn’t have power. He only has knowledge about witchcraft and phase of the moon In these episode, Lillia share her scar got by a vampire bit and also Alice’s curse looks like a bat. Then I more fall in to the theore that Teen is kinda vampire or werewolf, since this series is about haloween theme. We had werewolf by night 2 years ago, maybe it’s time for werewolf and vampires to really come to the universe

I'd like to point out with all the hallucinations last week, the only one that was a direct attack on the witch was in Jen's hallucination. Everyone else saw something super unpleasant. Assuming that these were all events that they individually suffered in the past. Lorna freaking out on young Alice. Teen Lilia surviving the black death, Agatha trading Nicholas for the dark hold, Jennifer being attacked by that doctor. Here's more assuming, let's say that failed attempt on her life wasn't. That it was a mock baptism to a very unconvenient woman that had this remarkable skill of midwifery. In a symbolic action of a "rebirth" that meant to keep her dead and it ended up symbolically psychosomatically binding her Edit: would also explain later the bit of power she had to heal Teen. Both displaying her knowledge of the spell incantation and ingredients but also performing it. That the key to her unbinding is dealing with that trauma, Agatha's pep talk and the support of the coven allowing her to regain herself again.

I rewatched the scenes between Rio and Agatha a lot. Watch their eyes in the "Boo", "No" scene. Rio looks in the reflection and the only one you can see is Teen. Agatha catches her, turns around, super quick glance at Teen and says "No." Almost like "Stay away from him." Then notice Rio never goes near Teen the whole episode. Also Rio tries to find out more about Teen after that. She is very interested in that boy. I have a much larger theory about Teen and Rio actually working together but it's not one I feel like tying out. LOL. The fact that Rio (of all people) said to Agatha "To save her daughter" was interesting. She said it point blank. No question. No wonder. Just matter of fact. Like she knows cause she's met her maybe. If she really is Death. I think the curse/demon hurt Teen. You hear the thing flapping then a whoosh of air (like wings) as the camera zooms at Teen then he is thrown through the glass. Remember the curse only goes after women (according to Lorna and Alice.) So maybe since teen is male, it was mad he was there and just hurt it anyway it could. I don't think Rio was involved (due to my earlier comment of possibly respecting Agatha's wishes) but I do think she did not stand in Jennifer's way to heal him. She actually looked disappointed when he was fine.

I am thinking that Rio might be Hela. She has the exact same black and green color scheme, Hela is a representation of death (the goddess of death), and in the comics her whole thing is collecting the souls of the dead, as in literally showing up to collect them personally when someone dies who isn't worthy to go to Valhalla. Also they both seem to like knives.

Tbh, I thought all that time that it's simply his notebook where he collects information (since he wanted Agatha to put the info on covens in there while he was driving). But I guess it's an actual spellbook where he ADDS his notes? Which does make sense, to be fair. Then again, the spell to summon a Green Witch feels rather advanced, so... what kind of a spellbook is it? And how Teen got it? Or perhaps it's a hint that Rio was with them all along and couldn't have been summoned because the spell was (mostly) Teen's gibberish. And Agatha assumed it's true because Teen's so passionate about witchcraft and whatnot, so it has to be legit, right?

Great video! Strange question: I just saw that the official Marvel music KZbin channel remastered and posted the '66 themes from the cartoons?? Do you think this means they're getting a digital or Disney+ release? It just feels so random for them to all come back now, on the music channel of all places.

I hope there’s a throw away line about rio as death saying that she turned down a date from thanos to reference the comics without providing any context, since that would be hilarious. Agatha even thinking that teen could be her son indicates that nickholos probably isn’t dead, so I bet Rio split Nicholas’ soul into the Salem seven in a failed attempt to avoid outright killing him as a way to please Agatha, but Agatha still lost her son.

I think Sharon Davies, Mrs. Hart finished her quest & was rewarded with levelling up (3 levels). 'What's bad is good' lyrics ties into that. Wanda broke that 'Dark Hold' Mephisto tricked her into his believing his game. Death is a vital part of reincarnation/afterlife. I think Agatha is cruel to be kind, like mothers always are. I love her so much. I hope she gets her reward, but I think she is going on a bigger quest.

Interesting way of viewing Sharon's death. I guess it could be considered a reward. And I agree, Agatha is indeed cruel to be kind. But dang, she was pouring on that cruelty about Mrs. Hart being a bad draft pick. Yikes!

My theory for the next episode is gonna be Agatha being tested in her loyalty to the coven also having to confront her past mistakes.
