Somehow I missed the English subtitles. But in any language this is an actor worth watching. I just had the pleasure of seeing DRUNKEN ANGEL yesterday, from 1948 - his first collaboration with Kurosawa. Already that trademark scowl was in place, and you could feel the intensity just radiating off him.

I just saw ANIMAS TRUJANO. The great Mexican director Ismael Rodriguez chose Toshiro Mifune for the lead role. It was filmed in Oaxaca Mexico. His character was so DESPICABLE in that Film. It’s recognized as one of the best films of the golden age of Mexican cinema.

Sorry, Brando can never come close. Also, because Brando never knew his lines, whereas Mifune's preparation included knowing his lines too. Plus, nobody could show emotions as he did, nobody.
