Following the White Rabbit I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I have loved how whimsical and colorful your style is for people. I can’t wait to try this. I too watch videos and try to replicate what others do to learn, and I don’t think it’s stealing or copying. I always say, too, who I learned by watching to do whatever it is I painted. You rock!! 🙌🏻👍🏻😍

Following the White Rabbit I looked up the gentleman’s name you suggested and tried doing some figures that he had a couple tutorials on. It was lovely! And for the first time I was able to make some really decent enjoyable painted figures. Thank you for showing and sharing that with me. It was really helpful and I actually didn’t do a bad job! 😅❤️ 🐇

I loved taking a peep at your people sketches. It gave me more inspiration to continue with mine, I’m at about 70 and I can see improvement. I’m better at working with watercolor and tend to like the outcome more often then not. Thanks again for sharing and I really enjoyed the last bit of portraits you did from inspiration.

Jolanda, I am happy that this is going to inspire you and give you some courage to keep going. Be brave!!! It's going to be easier and easier as you go. 😊😉 I put the reference of the material I use in the description box of the video so there is a link for the fude nib fountain pen if you are interested about it. That's a really fun tool to use for sketching. ☺️👍

Can you please tell me what’s the titel of the music that is playing ( from 10:15 on) ? It’s The soft piano . I know I’ve heard it before But I can’t find it anywhere. And… thank you for your video. I loved it very much.

Thanks for sharing your sketchbook. I was especially happy to see the footage of you sketching the portraits. Where is the lovely town center shown near the beginning of your video? It reminded me of my travels in France many years ago. (I need to go back again!)

This is quite the challenge for me. I find I want to put in too much detail! After watching this and your other video on sketching people, I realize that less is more! I purchased the green pen you recommended along with the ink from Amazon, receiving them the other day. (The pen will have many purposes!). I noticed there were two cartridges in the pen. Ok....once the cartridges are empty, how do you fill your pen? Do I need to find a converter ?? Thank you !

Love the water soluble ink - Parker Quink Black is nice too - gives some nice warm tones - Purples / brownish greys. The old Dayler Rowny Graduate 150gsm was a lovely paper for WC shame they ruined it.

This was such a delightful video! I have not gotten to 100 yet but I am trying to do more sketches of figures. I don't think I'm going to try doing any portraits it will all just be figures. I noticed that I am drawing the heads a little bit too big. And I remember what you said in your other figure video, don't make the heads too big. So I have to slow down and draw the heads smaller and then do the figure. It seems that drawing the figure standing upright is not too difficult. Would it be possible for you to do some figures that are bending, working with equipment, or figures that are running? I have seen Trevor's video, I would like to see how you portray it! Marvin

I'm so glad you mentioned Daler Rowney's new papers being of lesser quality than before. I actually wrote and complained and they sent me a boxful of pads, so now I have an abundance of poor quality paper!
