I think it’s symbolic of this world to show how you think. People who work hard to earn money can spend it on anything they want before handing it to a total stranger. He is talented without a doubt, but don’t ever tell me who or what to spend my hard earned money on. I can tell you that I 100% believe that I work just as hard if not harder than a man with a decent voice sitting in a chair singing to passers by.

There was a comment here some years ago: "Be the guy in the white cap." He stops in his tracks just as Dave is singing "will you stay with me?" (1:41), then listens to the rest of the song, quietly ambles up to Dave, leaves a tip, and walks away looking happy and grateful for the moment. Beautiful to ponder. I know I've been coming back to listen to this song over and over for about 8 years now if that tells you anything. I show it to anyone and everyone who'll listen.
