That is a very nice looking block. This is a helpful technique for getting consistent blocks that have straight and diagonal lines in them. I've learned the hard why that squaring up does make a big difference in the sewing :-)

I am not certain what went wrong but her lime green cross bars do not end in perfect triangles--they are off by too much to be used--this block has been wasted.

it must be my ocd but this was not even squared. the point was not in the middle of the cross. Was it supposed to be? If not, this is just not the block for me. lol.

This was a terrible example of how to square up blocks with a template when the host cannot make her block square. The points at the end of each side were obviously way off.

R MARTIN I absolutely agree, but was trying to overlook that. I just couldn't stand that they were advising to trace that square onto EVERY block, before cutting! use your heads people, if you can tape a 2" post-it to mark the center square, use your head & tape that template to your ruler!

Your comment was brilliant!! Made me chuckle when you wrote, " use your head people". ha ha

nice way to make a template especially the center part, but I don't understand why you didn't just put the plastic template on top of your ruler and tape it there rather than tracing on every block, what a waste of time. I I would expect you people at Fons & Porter be thinking this through a little bit more strategically. I love the block though, great colors.
