Il primo video completto e ben fatto sul cimitero delle fontanelle, nemmeno i napoletani hanno girato un video cosi minuzioso, ci doveva pensare uno straniero, grazie.

The cemeteries both Positano and Capri are well worth a visit. Gracie Fields is buried in the Capri cemetery. Lots of interesting folk are buried there a couple of Americans and English folk.

How i would love to visit Italy some day.

I visited the cemetery just a couple of weeks ago and I was impressed. A very different experience. Do you know what was surprising to me? I thought the cemetery is called 'delle Fontanelle' because of the many skulls that are in there - cemetery of the skulls, as I thought the meaning is. A Fontanelle is an anatomical part of the skull, in Latin 'Fonticulus'. To me it looked possible that the medical word fontanelle has its origin in Latin, and was used later in the Italian language as "skull". I looked it up and learned that the name of the anatomical fontanelle of the skull has its origin in 'fountain', in Italian fontanella, i.e. piccola fontana - what the meaning of the cemetery actually is. My effort of getting the meaning of italian words from its latin origin has failed this time. The video: Very professional opening scene with appropriate music, which I liked most. Not so good: You published the video on the 31.10., a day what pagans consider Halloween; I guess this was your purpose to get attention. However, this place is a (catholic) cemetery and not a place to enjoy, scare or entertain people. To me, a day later (1.11. - Tutti i Santi) would have been more appropriate. Anyway, a nice video. Whenever you are in Napoli again, consider making a video of the Catacombe Gaudioso and Gennaro, although you can't visit it without a tour guide.

A friend of my mother, many years ago, went to fontanelle and stole a skull as a souvenir. The night she dreamed the skull saying "Take me back where I belonged" Early in the morning after, she went to fontanelle again and set that skull in Its place.

Maybe they saw my video and thought they'd take a day trip so someplace new. :) I filmed the video on a weekday though after work. Probably the least busy time.

This is amazing. As a former dental assistant I have to wonder why not one skull did not have their front teeth 🦷🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

By no means I'm an expert or anything but I noticed some skulls had some suspicious damage in them, not all of these poor souls seems to had a peaceful death

It's sad to think they were buried like this, in an attempt to keep their souls from reaching heaven. I wonder what their "sins" were.

Is it me or do they just look like there was mass human sacrifice?
