I was a 17yr old young black teen. I smoked a joint and sat down In my room and MTV just happen to be showing this... As someone who grew up on rap.. it was the most awesome thing I had seen. I mean you couldnt pick my jaw up from the ground. Watching them chop on their axes like that.. Long story short this was the first rock album I ever purchased and it was the beginning of my 20yr journey of the genre. Favorite band no question..

I'm one of the kids who was devastated at the loss of Kurt and had a newfound hope when I first heard "This is a Call" on my alternative radio station. As a drummer myself of many years, Dave and Taylor were more than inspiring, they're what I think every person behind a kit should try to be. I love the Foos, as I'm sure you all do. No matter what happens with them next, Taylor's passing will leave a huge void on stage and in our hearts. I'm overjoyed that I get to experience the years of his talent that he left behind, but overwhelmed at the thought of what we're going to miss out on by not having him here. The bittersweet symphony of life, I guess.

@@ashg2336 This is true. The rest of the guys add very good musicianship... but that is a dime a dozen. The writing and the vision for the band is all Dave, and harder to do properly than people think. We all love Tayler and Nate and Pat and Chris... even Jami. But none of them are particularly paramount at all. I'm a drummer and of course I am in awe of Taylors skill... but its not that special and I really wish he would quit singing leads... he okay as backup vocals but he is definitely NOT a lead vocal voice.

Just guessing but maybe Growl was an intentional misspelling in reference to the fact that Dave is apparently a bit of a perfectionist, has an exceptional ear and is a tad OCD. That type can appear demanding. I think when one possessing those attributes has something particular in mind a sound or whatever it is they're looking for, they strive to attain it at all costs. From what I've ever heard or read about Dave he's one of the nicest easy going guys in the industry. A humanitarian and philanthropist. I read his book Storyteller and my take away was that he worked really really hard, suffered a great deal of loss, kept working hard, gained great success while remaining grateful and humble. He broke his leg during a concert and instead of going straight to the hospital as was suggested, he insisted on finishing the show as not to disappoint the fans he knew spent their hard earned money to attend. A multi-talented genius in my book. One I don't know personally but one I do believe I love 😊❤✌️🎶 P.S. as a fellow OCDian I can relate as I've edited this comment about 5 times in the past 5 minutes. Perfectionism sucks!! As perfection is but a myth 😏

I love the Foo Fighters, but more than that I love their humility. They never see themselves as bigger than anyone else, they involve the fans in their concerts, they share the love of music with the fans, and they are just down to earth guys. For a guy of my age who grew up in the 50's and 60's, it's refreshing. In the 1970's I played for the All Blacks, (you may need to research that), but staying humble when you are world famous is not easy for some. Fame can easily control you. But if you share your delight with your fans, you can't help but remain grounded.

Lyrics: All my life, I've been searching for something Something never comes, never leads to nothing Nothing satisfies but I'm getting close Closer to the prize at the end of the rope All night long I dream of the day When it comes around and it's taken away Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most Feel it come to life when I see your ghost Calm down, don't you resist You've such a delicate wrist And if I give it a twist Something to hold when I lose my grip Will I find something in there To give me just what I need? Another reason to bleed One by one hidden up my sleeve One by one hidden up my sleeve Hey, don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste Weight keepin' me down Hey, don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste Weight keepin' me down Will I find a believer? Another one who believes Another one to deceive Over and over, down on my knees If I get any closer And if you open up wide And if you let me inside On and on, I got nothing to hide On and on, I got nothing to hide Hey, don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste Weight keepin' me down Hey, don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste Weight keepin' me down All my life, I've been searching for something Something never comes, never leads to nothing Nothing satisfies but I'm getting close Closer to the prize at the end of the rope All night long, I dream of the day When it comes around and it's taken away Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most Feel it come to life when I see your ghost Then I'm done, done, on to the next one Done, done and I'm on to the next one Done, done and I'm on to the next one Done, done and I'm on to the next one Done, done and I'm on to the next one Done, done and I'm on to the next one Done, done and I'm on to the next one Done, I'm done and I'm on to the next Done, done, on to the next one Done, I'm done and on to the next one Done, done, on to the next one Done, I'm done and I'm on to the next Hey, don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste Weight keepin' me down Hey, don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste Weight keepin' me down Done, done, on to the next one Done, I'm done and I'm on to the next

One of the BEST Hard Rock Bands ever!! The part of the song from 3:31 until the end of the song gives me chills (in a good way, of course)
@desktopshorts74116 жыл бұрын
3:31 is the hardest shit I've ever heard in a modern rock song. You might disagree with me, but I've seen them do that 3 times live now & every single time the crowd loses their minds. It's face-meltingly Rock n' Roll

Just saw em in St Louis two weeks ago at the Enterprise Center and I agree. Not one person was sitting. The entire arena went fucking insane and screamed the song with him. Ears were ringing for two days lol.

One of my fondest memories involves this song. I saw the Foos on the Wasting Light tour in Cleveland in 2011. I was standing most of the show and I sat down when Dave took a little break and talked to the crowd for a minute. Can't remember if it was band intros or something like that, but then the band started the intro of this song and I remember sitting on the end of my seat and the seat is literally shaking from the opening riff. Awesome show.

Foo Fighters isn’t like other bands. They don’t thrive on singles. Every song of theirs has the same love and care put into it as the next.
@voteZDLR6 жыл бұрын
This is true but they also are so good at writing songs that like... sometimes every song on an album they make sounds like it could be a single. I am not saying this is a bad thing. I fking love The Foo. I remember when this was new and being played on music video channels though. It's amazing how far they came.

Bush's sound has maintained its brilliance and sound, uncompromised. Saw them in Oregon over the summer and was blown away, seriously it was the best concert I have ever seen, no reason they shouldn't be blowing up radios still beyond art is gone and lost today. But I tell you, something in the way he performed made me feel sad, he is so humble but made me have a loss feeling. But something seriously beautiful. Time has passed but Rossdale hasn't lost one step you would never know.
