That is not an accident. Regardless, it is a tragedy because it shows that mental health is still not addressed the way I'd like it because if it was Taylor would have recieved proper help instead of dealing with it himself by mixing pain meds, anti depressants, weed and mushrooms.

I'm sorry to hear that, Phil. I don't know if this is helpful to you or not, I hope it is. In 1966, my grandfather died very suddenly, it was a total gut punch to my father. I was an infant, so I have no direct memory of him, but even as a kid I used to ask my dad questions about grandpa. I was about 12 when I asked my dad in depth about how his dad died and what it was like. He had a massive heart attack while napping, and that was it. No hospital drama, just gone. I knew my dad had been very close with his dad, and I've always been very close with my dad, but when I was 12 or so it was the heroic kind of closeness. So, I wondered, and said something like it must have been horrible. Dad said he couldn't even talk about it for about a year. That triggered a question with me. I said "How long does it take you to get over something like that?" Dad said this: "You never get over it. You just learn to live with it." I was a kid expecting a "time heals all wounds" kind of response, and he tosses that one out at me. (What do you mean you don't get over it!!!) But I find a certain comfort in what he was saying. There will never be a time when you don't mourn your friend, and that's part of what keeps their memory alive. You'll reflect on your friend over the course of your life, and as your life perspective changes, so will your reflections, even decades from now. You'll still mourn the loss, but you'll also be incredibly grateful for the bond you had, and the strength of that bond will always feel fresh, and over time that is what will last. I'm sorry to ramble, but....I don't know I just thought, hoped, that maybe a few....dozen....words might provide some comfort.

So we saw each other just about everyday for so long. Its been 4 months. I cant listen to certain music without getting all choked up. I had another close lifelong friend die 5 years ago. And I still think about him at some point everyday. This is life though. The longer you live, the more people you love will die. Im thankful for the time. Im only 37. Im jist about out of friends. I got my wife. And kids. And my mom and dad and sister are still alive. So , im grateful. Thank you again for the words. ✌

@@johnhancock9249 that's a HUGE assumption that drugs even played a part in his death. The medical professionals that examined his body postmortem said they suspected a heart attack, not an overdose. No stimulants like cocaine or uppers we're found. The drugs were found in his urine, not bloodstream. Drugs can stay in urine for literally months, so there is no reason to think they were ingested that night or that day even. Antidepressants, antianxiety meds, marijuana and opiates are what was reported out of the ten drugs. The other drugs could have been anything from antacids to caffeine, if they were narcotic I'm sure they would have been mentioned. They also said his heart was approximately double the size of a normal person his sex and age. That suggests a congenital heart condition not drugs. I myself probably have all those drugs in my urine right now. I am prescribed all of them and don't abuse them and definitely not intoxicated from them. So don't be "pissed" at Taylor without any knowledge of what really happened and what actually contributed to his death.

I was fortunate enough to see him and the Foo's once,and it is to date the best gig of the hundreds ive seen. I had a side stage view and he almost looked like he was taking off drumming...just powerful. That was the standout part of that gig. Music is such a personal thing, it gets us through the best and worst of time's, becomes the soundtrack to our lives and embeds itself in our hearts. My absolute sincerest condolences to the people that knew him and also to the Foo Fighters fans that loved him. My son took me to see them in Manchester a few years ago and it was a highlight of my life as I'd just successfully given my son a kidney and we were there to celebrate life itself. If it hadn't been diagnosed, he'd have had no idea. Things like not being obese & being physically fit, might be have slowed the condition down. It's possible he'd had if for a few years. Reports of overdose are unconfirmed/not true. He had several (10)prescription drugs & THC (I don't know if it was prescribed), in his system, but it's not been confirmed if they were prescribed for him or not. Being an addict myself and losing a band mate who was like a brother to me absolutely devastated me. Yep, weed. The cops went through her phone and found texts to the guys she bought it from. They caught them with a kilo of Fentanyl in some shithole backwater town in Kansas. I had a friend die last year from coke laced with Fentanyl. I was a pill junkie for decades until I couldn't get pills I knew were prescription and not bathtub dope. So I'm kind of glad Fentanyl scared me straight (sort of, still eat edibles). Man, if you can even switch to edibles (made yourself or from a dispensary), you can live life without grinding all the time, or worrying about whether you'll wake up tomorrow or not. I finally got sick of it and got on methadone, which is prescribed and regulated by a doctor. I haven’t touched a pill in 14 years ! Sorry about your people dying,too. That’s tragic, especially from weed laced with fentanyl ! I had three cousins die the same year my friend died, all four died of heroine laced with fentanyl ! So sad. It was a rough year for me and my family.

It’s so hard hearing of musicians that I grew up listening to pass on by cancer, gunshot, and drug addiction. At 52 and a musician drummer myself this one hits hard. Almost as bad as Neil Pearts passing. I cried over Neil and feel like crying now over Taylor. Damn this sucks. EVH was a tough one as well. Taylor should not have been taking so many drugs all the time. His heart gave out. And as an addict myself I know exactly what I’m talking about. Had been clean for 24 Yrs from cocaine speed and weed started a great career and have made a profitable living since. But a back injury from many years ago started a doctors prescription cycle on strong opiates. The last 2 years I have had to go to the street but today I am 6 days in going cold turkey from a 15-20 pills a day habit all to help with my back pain. It’s been a mother fkr getting off of them with my on free will. But I have done it. I beat the demon again. I haven’t slept for six days until last night. Got up this morning feeling all sorts of weird. My Brain is having to retrain itself for my bodies needs. I had no medical attention during it. Taylor was taking opioids, and all other sorts of shit. This is a very dangerous game to play with your body. And as hard a playing as his job required his body needed to be in shape. Not quietly sick from all the activity off the stage. He killed himself by doing this. He’s older now but still partying as hard as ever and his heart played out. He complained from chest pains right as he was dying. I hope anyone who reads this that is doing the same behavior as Taylor and I and many others have and are doing wake the fuk up and put the dope down. If you can’t do it for yourself, do it for the ones who love you. Your family, your kids, your fans…. I loved watching Taylor play drums. The guy was a machine on the drums. I listened to their music growing up in high school and I’m just sick right now that he’s gone. Fuk this is a sad sad day. Another great one on the kit takes out by addiction. Today I’m running my business from phone till I’m well enough to drive. But I’m free from taking any more meds today. I’m a lucky one I guess but anyone can be lucky if they want to. Just don’t pick it up. And it will pass. I did it cold turkey. I have told my contacts calling me constantly to come buy some more pills but I tell them to fuk off. I’m done. And I am done. To the junkie, the addict, alcoholic or whatever your poison is, you can get well because I don’t care who you are, how many fans you have, or money you make. If you are partaking in the strong medicine it’s going to bite you at some point or even kill you. But you have to choose to live or die. I don’t down Taylor at all. I have fought the same demons he has. In fact I love the guy. He was a hell of a drummer. Rest In Peace Taylor Hawkins. The world is going to miss you tremendously

Drugs appear to be a good excuse to label his cause of death. Dont believe it as it is just cover for him being vaccinated. Colombian government officials easy to corrupt not known to be be highly ethical. Payoff by big pharma for doing so is huge. Did he have prior drug issues ? Yes,but he was completely fine his last show and nobody is ingesting 10 different drugs into their body at once to get high. Sounds like last phone call he was either sober or might have smoked a little weed at best. Telling friends he will see them in san Paulo is telling that he had will to live. Couple of workers around foo fighters had bad reactions to the vaccine and dave and the band promoting vaccine passports to access their shows a few months ago would blow up the pro vaccine narrative as another well known celebrity has fallen victim to it. Bottomline big pharma and goverment cannot let their narrative fall apart that is why they gave us the fake toxicology report. Dave grohl and the rest of the band need to stop being sellouts to the establishment while giving appearances of being anti establishment rockstars. Allowing your friends death to be conveniently labeled a drug overdose when it is known to be vaccine related is cowardly and disgusting. They need to man up,be honest with themselves as they are most likely going to die in the near future because they to are all vaccinated and just admit they where wrong about the vaccine being safe. Nobody is going to buy the bassist killed himself because he was despondent of hawkins death line.
