I had 2 nights in a Posh Hotel in Larne years ago. Went over from England in a Transit Van instead of my lorry as a favour for my firm. They paid, obviously and I was served an Ulster Fry both mornings. There were Fourteen (Yes, 14) different items on the plate both mornings!! All that this lovely lady cooked plus Baked Beans, Tomatoes, Mushrooms and what else I can't remember. BLOODY LOVELY!! Never been beaten since in my life. Had a really good try in a Cafe in Kilmuckridge down near Wexford and this was excellent too. What a Brilliant Lady, Mum, Gran the lady in the video is. 10 out of 10 and 5***** stars to her.

Paul Doyle I was just thinking the same. And missing it my childhood food that we took for granted.. It's true you wouldn't want anything all day after that, just an evening meal.. I must make this for my kids at the weekends and holidays... I loved that ladies cooking it was spot on, could almost taste it. 👏👏😢😢😢

These days, this is regarded as healthy food again! I think it pretty much is, if the carbohydrates are kept low. A lot better than skimmed milk and processed sugary grains... I think I to could go all day on this... Lovely young girl, learning her mothers skills, hanging on every detail, already confident in her position. Somebodies doing something right...

Bravo, Bravo. That is an excellent breakfast. Which is the most important meal of the day. If you are a blue collar worker you will sweat the grease out during your working day. SO don't worry about the cholesterol. Now when I was in Dublin a few years ago. The food was gross. It was cold. Could not find any traditional Irish breakfasts. Sausage rolls at the store had no taste. Fish and chips were bland. And the Xmas suppers were ice cold and expensive. Liverpool had better. But where did I find traditional Irish breakfasts was in Amsterdam. The Irish pubs were real with real Irish folk and cooked it like I remembered it as a child. There was about 3 pubs that served it plus 2 more to drink in. But maybe in Dublin everyone was from Poland or Asian. Now in the Merican south the sausage is good but has a different spicey style taste. Very heavy on the grease and meat flavor. I love them both. SO I am a happy camper. My favorite sausage comes from Wayne County North Carolina. Ole Waynesboro hams is excellent.

@kevod096 жыл бұрын
Potato farl is like a potato bread( potato and flour , traditional historical peasant staples) . Ireland and uk are the furthest western European islands and geographically, climatologically and culturaly rice was never going to grow there hence the reason why rice is not a staple like it is in the hotter climate Asian , African or south American countrys where one of the main crops that grows there is rice , I think that's why you may have noticed that rice is not traditionally featured on the uk or irish dishes of the past

Hello Originally the Full cooked breakfast was ordered by Field Marshal Montgomery (Hence it was originally called "The Full Monty") He did it for the same reason, As he realised that he probably wouldn't be eating again until that evening The cafe he went to had a list of items available for breakfast. He is reported as saying 2 of everything. The Full English has Black/Blood Pudding The Full Scottish has Haggis The Full Cornish has Hogs/White Pudding As far as I can find out the Full Irish has both Black and White Pudding? Andy C

@johnprice73039 жыл бұрын
+hollabackgirl98 We call it 'spudcake' It can be bought in certain food outlets... but it is simply made from a mixture of mashed and boiled potatoes, and flour, the 'receipe' is widely available online...and is worth the effort if accompanied by juicy bacon,sausage and egg.
@sav75686 жыл бұрын
It was a slice of supermarket version of a potato cake which would have been loaded with chemicals and none too tasty so why not make your own. Dry mashed potatoes, plain flour, 1 egg and a little salt. Shape into patties then fry in the bacon fat or use butter.
