We are faced with fresh issues every day. It now serves as the norm. We initially mistook it for a crisis, but now we recognize it as a new normal to which we must adjust. What actions may we take to increase income during the quantitative adjustment since 2023 will be a year of tremendous economic suffering for the whole country? I can't allow my $800k in savings to disappear after all my hard work.

Utilizing a portfolio advisor when investing is, in my opinion, fantastic. I was really suffering financial nightmares before speaking with a certified portfolio advisor, right before the pandemic crash in March 2020. In conclusion, I have so far increased my initial $460k investment to over two million dollars with the help of my advisor.

The UK complained that it was supporting other EU members for nothing, wanted out, and got what it wanted. Things couldn't be any better, right? The lower GDP means we do not have the headroom to pay our way in the world and must resort to borrowing.Whilst there are rich people in the UK; a great many of us are poor and now we are poorer still. Inflation can have a significant impact on individuals and their cost of living. As a result, it can cause negative market sentiment. It is important for individuals and businesses to find ways to navigate and potentially mitigate the effects of inflation on their finances. The current economic climate, including underperformance of financial markets due to fear of inflation, has led to a decrease in the value of my portfolio. I would appreciate any recommendations on how to potentially increase returns during this market downturn.

The fun part is that when anyone is talking about inflation is expecting to fall, we are basically just talking about slower price increases. Once a price increase happens, the damage is done so even if 2023 should show a miraculous 0% inflation, we are still set at the higher prices that have happened in the past months/year. No doubt though politicians will expect a clap on the shoulder for it.

@@JakeLDS The discrepancy between wages and living costs has certainly skyrocketed especially when it comes to housing. We are now living in times where building wealth has become utopia and all that matters is survival from one month to another. Let's also not forget that inflation was picking up long before Ukraine and is very much a home-made problem thanks to decade-long money printing by the central banks in order for governments to continue their lavish spending programs with more debt. Yet there seems to be 0 accountability.
@marxk4rl

Fuel prices were down in pandemic, high again, lowered again now. So your theory is wrong. Prices are set depending on how much money is in the economy. You can't ask a price for something if nobody has enough money to pay that price. People have too much money printed by gov or borrowed from banks on low interest, so they can pay high prices. Inflation means too much money in the economy, not high prices. High prices are the result of too much money.

They mugged themselves but will not admit it. Instead, preferring to lay all the blame on some external factor. The best example in recent history is that all of the woes of the UK were because of the EU. So, they left. Things failed to improve and indeed, got much worse when left to their own devices. Still, they blame everything on everybody else. Of course, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine have affected everyone to a certain degree, but it is only the UK that blames everything on external factors. Of course, within the UK there are individuals who see the situation for what it is, but as a whole it is as I write.

The government in the UK will ALWAYS prioritise the well being of big corporations even if they are foreign owned. They know full well that their policy of subsidising consumer energy bills is a gift to the rich and corporations. The rational policy would be to tax the super normal profits of the energy companies and use that to subsidise prices for the first x units of energy consumed. That would benefit the basic level of energy consumption while not subsidising unnecessarily the high consumption of wealthy households. It is this kind of stupid policymaking that is slowly killing the UK.

Given the high inflation, the use of coupons is more widespread than ever and many people rely on them not only for the purchase of food but also for clothing and much more. The transition to the 8112 digital coupon format is imminent. Qples by Fobi is the only platform able to provide physical/digital coupons anywhere in the world redeemable in real time! This is very valuable for the big CPG brands as they allow them to improve their Roi but above all customer loyalty, which has proven to change brands if the situation is advantageous. McDonalds, burger King and many other brands could use Qples by fobi coupons to increase customer loyalty, Roi and improve their margins. Given the high inflation that has led to the reduction in consumer purchasing power, CPGs are looking for new ways to attract customers. I think the arrival of digital coupons and the transition to 8112 has been accelerated by all of this. The decline in margins and profits that we are witnessing of many tech companies, once considered leaders, confirm the shift of the consumer in search of better opportunities and bargains offered by coupons.

I tell this to my partner when he cooks. Grabs 3 peppers, chops them up, and half the pepper flesh is still on em! Halves and onion and puts the other half in the bin. He's a great cook but I watch him like a hawk. Because the truth is, the prices are too high, and I'm not having £5 in the bin because "it's not the best bit". He agrees but it's a bad habit most people have

I just baked 6 chicken drumsticks which will last till Saturday and the rendered fat is in a glass in the fridge. That'll last for a few days for frying stuff in. And egg fried rice/bubble and squeak are age old methods of using up vegetables that would've been wasted otherwise. Even gone off milk can be strained and the curds used to make cheese if you've got the patience.

Bell peppers, mangoes, limes, avocados, oranges. These aren't British produce; these are imports and naturally you'll pay more for them especially since leaving the Brexit. 2 pounds for a bag of oranges - still a bargain. A minimum of $6 in the US and they grow here! Yes, there is a serious issue in the UK regarding wages and inflation. However, there is also a serious issue regarding the low prices on out-of-season, out-of-country foods.

@@zh5376 That is a decades old issue: the disappearing middle class. Unfortunately there is still this misconception that trickle down economics actually works. It's been debunked so many times and yet the UK government - and the US - still adhere to it.

@@zh5376 Uk resident here the Tories (conservatives) only think in perpetual short term here. They see prices as income for buisness, and wages as an expense for buisness and government, so keep wages low as possible, and prices as high as possible. I was talking to an African girl and she was talking about her expensive food bill and pointed to an African Yam, I suggest that she switch to locally grown potatoes! Imagine all the fuel needed to get a Yam from West Africa, Rice and nutmeg from Asia. People need to eat more local and support local farmers, you don't need as much fuel to transport locally grown fruit and veg. Is globalism sustainable?!
