According to the USDA website, if stored properly and there are no major dents/bulging at the seams, canned food will last indefinitely. They may lose some nutritional value and have some slight texture changes, but are safe to eat. I recently ate some canned corn with a BBD of 2021 ( be sure to rotate your stock), and it was fine.

Unless it is labeled "organic" (whatever that even means these days), anything that contains corn or soy is bioengineeted and has been since the 80s, if not longer. Recent laws require it to be put on the labels. That's why everyone is "suddenly" seeing it.

DRINKING GAME! We take a shot every time Danno says "1.25". (Just kidding!) I haven't been to our Dollar Tree in almost a month, which is unusual. The only thing that I have in my pantry that I have never eaten was a couple of cans of boiled peanuts. They have great protein and there are people around me who would eat it I have yet to have problems storing pull tab cans, although I would rather not. I would love to find the fried apples that others have found and I no longer see "MINI BARS Sesame Seed and Nuts". I bought a lot a couple of years ago and I pulled out one I had stored away last week and they were perfect. VERY tasty and full of protein. The breakfast bars at DT have shrunk in size, one bar in a pack instead of two now. Joe-the-Husband LOVES the Hazelnut Spread there and says the ingredients are healthier than Nutella. (It is also made in Italy) I definitely put away a lot of sugar, in all forms, and honey, molasses and even corn syrup. Cake mixes will not last in storage for long, although I do have some Martha White muffin mix on the shelves. After putting rice away for 4 years,I am finally seeing big price increases and fewer bags on the shelves,( most notisably at Sam's for som time.) The Apple Cider vinegar is a great price, although it is in plastic. The Balducci wafer cookies have no artificial ingredients and are good,(Granted, they are almost all sugar, but hey!) The 2 1/2 gallon ziplock bags are fantastic, the parchment is not professional quality, but it works and it is inexpensive. The 3-pack of travel coffee cups are good; I use them all the time.I have had some for years, but they are cheap enough to let someone leave with one and not feel the loss. Jessica's right about the banana Moon Pies! I haver to stay away from them.

Plus artificial blueberry flavor doesn't do my stomach any favors. I did make a $Tree run Monday, and noticed some new things. But some of the things I like to stock up on have been going away.
