It would be great to see some of your old sealed preps from years ago. In fact this video was back in 2013, it would be great to see you open it up and see if it is any good.

Hi, we gave a lot of the food away during some disasters here and a lot to the local homeless shelter where they serve hot meals. All of the food items were still good after 4 to 5 years. I do still have some rice and beans along with some other items we can open. I will dig into the #10 cans we have and open some up and cook up a batch ! TY!!!

OK, I have beans I stashed over two years ago just in their Mylar bags they come packed in. They were stored in a dark, cool, and dry sub-basement and my experience there has been very good. The conditions really extend the shelf life of pretty well everything I have stored there. I'm bringing a large bag up today to "see". Cross my fingers eh? God I pray it's still good. Have a great one and good luck.

Would storing coffee that is in plastic , be better if put in a mason jar ? Oxygen obsorber added or no ? I'm watching alot of your videos and learning so much more lol. Thank you !!!

hi...thank you.....coffee does not store long term.....buy freeze dried coffee and transfer to a small mason jar with an oxygen absorber....best way to keep coffee
@kuzadupa1852 жыл бұрын
When I store coffee, I do almost same steps but I fill the empty areas between the coffee bags with either rice or beans. Than i add my oxygen absorbers and close the lid, after applying a little food grade oil (coconut) to the gasket/rubber around the inside of the lid, which will make contact with the bucket top itself.

I’ve been storing coffee in mylar bags without oxygen absorbers is that OK to not use the absorbers?
@technician7753 жыл бұрын
Hi, if the coffee is vacuumed packed, just leave it, i do not recommend storing coffee like this anymore. After contacting and having a long discussion with one of the big coffee manufactures, coffee continues to degrade and there is no stopping it. Kind of like corn when you grind it, the clock starts and you cannot stop it. I do suggest you put away some freeze dried coffee though. try all the different brands and buy some of that. Hope this helps..... The raw coffee beans unroasted will keep for a long time though. you will have to roast it though when you open the package, TY!

On the coffee bags do I need to open bags a little or just as it is put into bucket? thank you
@technician7755 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching, this storage technique will not extend the life of the coffee that much. When coffee is roasted, the oils come out of the bean and the clock starts to tick. You can slow it down some, but not stop it. We suggest freeze dried coffee, the taste may leave a lot to be desired, but it IS coffee! If you still want to store coffee like this, no need to poke a hole as the pressure relief valve or one way valve will let the oxygen come out. Hope this helps,

Isn't that a federal offense to steal your consumer's coffee fragrance ... NOT! Just kidding. I love my coffee too, but I buy it in the jugs. Any suggestion for storing those or just leave them in the original container?

Hi, i always have to look to see who is watching, maybe the coffee small police will be lurking LOL !!! ground and whole bean coffee that has been roasted does NOT store well. I suggest buying freeze dried coffee for long term food storage. just store it in the jars they come in. The coffee "count down clock" starts when the beans are roasted. Hope this helps, i did try the "Juan Valdez" freeze dried coffee...pretty good and the jar is sealed really well. TY for watching!

How to store cup of noodles long term?
@technician7755 жыл бұрын
Hi, DO NOT store cup of noodles, they are fried and will go rancid before you can use them. We pulled the video from our channel due to finding out about them being fried, I would look at another form of noodles and broth to make something quick and easy, thanks for watching !

@technician7755 жыл бұрын
Thank you !!!... well when coffee is roasted and ground the clock starts and you cannot stop it. it will last a bit longer but not more than a year. I suggest freeze dried coffee, and coffee in a can will about as long as the expiration date. It deteriorates and you loose flavor..
@survivaljulia98615 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much,so I guess the roasted beans not ground are better .

Hi, green beans, once you roast, the oils come out of the bean and the clock starts, I suggest freeze dried, I do not like the taste, but.......
@JT-20125 жыл бұрын
Based on experimentation, not more than a couple of years. The tops are no longer a metal seal but just a peal back piece of Mylar. I've tried everything to try to extend the life of coffee. Sadly, nothing has worked. Sealing freeze dried coffee only does a bit better. Your best bet is to store green beans and learn to roast them, or switch to drinking tea. I have sealed up thousands of tea bags.
