I saw a video on these master moldmakers. They polish the molds after CNC shaping. Apparently it is such a honed skill (literally) that one goes through an apprenticeship. It's a small community. The molds last very long.

I believe it's created more as a continuous development than an idea from scratch. They start with a single mold, vacuum forming by hand, then they upgrade to a higher speed machine and by the end it's fully automated.

Amazing, but with the amount of plastic this country consumes -- which is extremely excessive (you will know what I mean if you ever order take out or delivery in this country) I wonder how much of recycled plastic this factory uses.

While I truly enjoyed watching the mass production process, it still is upsetting seeing all of plastics being manufactured knowing that they will very likely not be recycled. It will be a great day in the world when manufacturers of all plastic products are responsible for the products being properly disposed of. Cradle to grave responsibility is probably the only way plastics manufacturing will be stoped.
