Food store or grocery store?

In the UK my family say "we're going food shopping", grocery is almost never heard here.

We normally use supermarket as the term mainly in the UK or we shorten it to "the shop" 😁

I don't know about other people around where I live but my family just says the name of the store. Walmart, Target, King Soopers, Big R yada yada.

We call it the “supermarket,” or “fruit shop” if they just sell produce

I just say I'm going to Giant, Karns, Wal-Mart, or whatever other supermarket they have wherever I am. Never heard anyone say food store but also don't really hear grocery store that often either.
