The Kunekune ('cooney-cooney') is a fascinating breed of pig with lots of potential as a profitable livestock enterprise, particularly for those looking for a smaller animal that requires less input and is generally easier on your land. A landrace breed originating in New Zealand, these pigs were prized by the Maori people for their resilience and easy keeping. We will discuss breed history and characteristics, optimal conditions for their health and well-being, and niche products derived from Kunekune that can maximize the return on your investments.
