As a vet tech, fixing open incisions is harder than just leaving on the fucking cone. Also, pets will get used to it if you leave it on. It's sad but it's in the best interest of the animal. They took her to a quick spay and neuter clinic which is why they used the silver spray and shoved her out. Cones are not harmful...... Jesus take the fucking wheel.

I’ve had a dog that went through an operation and would not leave her incision alone. She would get out of all types of cones and outfits. So do you know what I did at night? I Stayed up with her to monitor her and make sure she wasn’t doing herself damage. Chantelle complains that Julia is doing this while she is asleep. Well then you need to take. Turns in going to sleep with your husband and make sure somebody is always awake around her just while she heals up then don’t you???? common sense to me. Alright, I’m not a vet or anything, I am however familiar with the silver bandage spray Chantal is talking about. Currently me and my trainer are using a similar product to treat a fungal infection on my horse’s legs, which is another common use for silver bandages. And let me tell you, Julia does NOT have any goddamn spray on her incision site. By virtue of the fact that it’s a silver-based product, it has a very obvious dark and shiny cast to it upon application, which would still be obvious even on a dark-furred cat like Julia, especially since it’s a spray-on product. Not to mention it’s… not a *bandage* bandage, like Chantal probably thinks it is, the spray provides some protection to incisions and promotes tissue regeneration, but that’s not a replacement for the cone or proper sutures! Especially if Julia continues to lick it off because of Chantal’s negligence.

As somebody that’s had cats for over 20 years and is a professional fosterer of cats I hate this woman so much. It’s a temporary condition to have to put a cone on a cat -no cats like a cone, no cats like to be restricted, but it’s either that or her wound gets horribly infected and she can die or her wound can open and her insides can literally fall out. Again she could die. This woman is more interested in how she looks on camera and about how it’s causing more work for her to take 30 seconds out of her time to reassure the cat to actually look after her cat. It makes me sick. Having pets is a privilege not right and the poor cat did not ask to be owned by her. If I thought for one minute the kuwaiti authorities cared about animal welfare I would report her, but I know that they won’t.

I spayed my three girls a few months ago (theyre all from the same litter) and it was much different from Julia… got a cone for each kitty upon discharge and didn’t have to bring them back unless they had any issues. Eventually the vet will call for an after surgery checkup and will absolutely tear into Chantal for that open incision. I'm betting the cat will need a second surgery for revision of the incision and Chantal will tell us it was complications from spaying her and how she was right in not wanting to get her fixed even though the 'complications' were her own fault. I rescued a shitzu years ago who was 10ish and had all the skin and eye issues that come with purebred shitzus , she sometimes had to wear a cone for weeks at a time so she could heal , she went from 1 big scab to a sweet little baby and lived for another 8 years her name was muffin and she hated her cone and ear wraps but sometimes we must do what's best because we know better than they do

Dogs can eat with a cone on once they figure it out. Is it not the same for cats because they don’t have long muzzles? Seems unlikely. Put the damn cone on, leave it on, and deal with it. Yeah it’s annoying, but it’s important. My big ass boy seemed to purposely ram his cone into the back of my leg every chance he got. He was the worst buster I’ve ever dealt with. He needed to wear it for almost a week. I had to walk with his cone in my hand to prevent the ramming because he follows me everywhere. Obviously, I just dealt with it because the alternative is more pain for him, more expense, and more cone!

Tldr, her mistreatment of Julia after surgery is what made me genuinely dislike Cha.n.tel. Didnt much care before when she lies about her weight/love life/eating habits and I am neutral at best to people just insulting her based on her weight/diet. So, I think she mentioned that the vet said to take Julia to them for daily checkups for the next few days which concerns me because its either one or multiple of the possibilities: 1. Julia didnt have an easy time during surgery/recovery at vet - so needs more monitoring. 2. Vet is maybe new (or worse unqualified) and wants to make certain Julia’s healing well. 3. Vet may suspect possible neglect/improper pet care. - sadly theres no law probably against pet/animal abuse or one that is not enforced strictly. I am not a vet or someone in that field. But I had an interest in becoming one and had researched a bit before opting to becoming a nurse. (Would rather be a nurse for animals lol) But its just common sense. After surgery, you dont want anyone human or animal to move around too much. Much less jumping and touching/aggravating the incision site too much. I know both on the side as a carer and as a surgery patient myself. Also that fake crying irritates me to the core. If she was genuinely worried, she wouldnt have taken off the cone. Maybe we should put a cone on her. Might make her lose weight. (Yes im going there now because Im getting irritated myself).

I had a spinal fusion in my neck years ago and they made me wear a collar for weeks after my surgery. I haaaated it but I did it anyway because MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS told me to. I am getting more enraged the longer this spaying saga plays out. My heart breaks for poor Julia.

Both of may cats wore their cones after being fixed 24/7 for a week. They got used to it. they can eat with it on if you give them a proper bowl. We also had an xl dog cage that they were popped into to keep them from jumping for a couple days.
