I have visited Chaina Ram confectionery several times and the sweets there are simply out of this world. Plus the owners are amazing gentlemen..

Kripal, your visit to Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectionary has brought back a childhood memory. Way back somewhere in the 80s, my late father had received a Diwali Gift, from one of his work associates. It was a 500gm tin box with an image of Shri Krishna on the lid, containing a fat slab of the orange coloured Pistachio Karachi Halwa. Our then family of four nibbled our way through it and later, that emptied tin was retained back by my mom, who would go on to use it, to store her sewing kits & buttons. We continue to have that tin box with us with reels in it even as I write this 😊 And yes the Aloo Sabzi in Delhi is rather spesh. Wherever you eat, be that a famous establishment or a non descript one, Delhi-ites know how to whip up a mean aloo ki tarkari to go with the unlimited options of fried breads. The only state that does it as well as ours is UP.
@FoodLoversTV Жыл бұрын
Wow! That's a rather special memory, Shoma. Thank you for sharing, and yes, you can say that again about the aloo preparations that one finds in Dilli.

I have a similar story. We, 4 siblings, used to fight who will get the next tin box once emptied of amazing sweets, my dad would take for us in Ranchi, all the way from Delhi. He used to say this place reminded him of the good times he had before India's partiton.

this dude is talking food description to the next level... amazing episode.. can not wait for next one.... if you make one serious series of Delhi food with your whole team like you did with Bangalore this channel will grew 10 fold... still this version also great as you are just starting with new city and batter to get little local support with this series and than go full in. keep it up... adding your friend to this is just cherry on top.. also Bourdain would have shared this channel to world in this tech age.

Kripal love the food flavours of OLD Delhi - such a small humble places and most of these shops exists pre-independence time. Not expanding unlike the current industry trends and majority no TECH invention or intervention that has sustained the taste of food at a simple pricing. HATS off and my SALUTE to these owners who have stayed put with all emotional partitions and tech industry disruptions. Chaina RAM - beautiful response and have sustained over 121 years old can we imagine any such place existing. Thank you for letting the world know there are such simple, humble beautiful places exists that binds our wonderful country. Hats off to you and your team also your friend Amith making this possible 🙂
