It is no secret that out here in Bengaluru, we love our coffee, especially the traditional South Indian filter coffee kind. However, what is not much known is the fact that there are a variety of distinct coffee traditions in the South, based on geography, brewing and serving customs. But that’s about to change, as a mother and son duo, Anusuya and Ranjit Prakasam, have just opened a cosy filter coffee café in Jayanagar, South Bengaluru, where they brew and serve a range of 10 filter coffees that incorporate unique blends, paired even to the milk that goes in - from hand churned to A2 milk of desi cows. I pay them a visit to taste five coffees and also some of the local bakery snacks that are served alongside. Hope you enjoy this episode. Take care, stay safe and strong. Happy eating!

There is a competing theory that it was invented in Panchami Cafe (now closed) at Kumbakonam. Apparently it advertised itself as "Pachami Iyer Cow's milk coffee" as per old timers of Kumbakonam. Even the present owners of Mangalambika present in Kumbeswaran sanidhi of Kumbakonam acknowledge that it was a joint invention.

Hello Sir, This is going to be a rather long post. First thing, we are huge fans. When I say We, I mean starting from my 8 year old ( who imitates you while having her food) to my 70 year old mother in law, we are fans. We were in Bangalore for 12 years and now after watching your food channel, we realise what we have missed. We hope to come back some day and visit at least a few of the places you have been to. Another important thing that I have taught my 8 yo from your channel is, never waste food. Finish first what is given and then ask for more. My mother in law loves that quality in you. We love your choice of vocabulary to describe the taste of any food that you have. We never knew food could be enjoyed with just words so much. We have one request which I am sure most of your fans would ask. Next time you are in Chennai, please do visit our home. We would love to cook our delicasies for you. Keep up the good work of introducing us to small but yet wonderful places in and around Bangalore. I hope you make shows about places across India too.

While you are tecnically right about the fat part there is however sm differences in the absorbtion nature of these ghees... The ghee derived from A2 milk has a lower melting point than that of the A1 derived one...A2 derived ghee gets easily absorbed bcoz its melting point is below the normal body temp, while tatz not th case with A1 derived one.. Tat stays as unsaturated fat in the body & harmful unless you don't indulge in vigourous exercise...This explains why one feels heavy after consuming A1 derived ghee, while the A2 derived one one feels lighter....Try it for yourself..

By and large Food reviewer Kripal Amanna's videos are always amazing. Not only he explains each aspect of the food , beverage , the place and the persons behind the venture which one must know too , ..... but the way he explains with the right language shows him to be a Numero Uno in this business. No foodie's video or other food reviewers can match him and his class. While on the subject we have noticed many coffee shops lined up on the roads in TN and from Tirupati to Chennai displaying eye catching bill boards screaming the availability of KUMBAKONAM DEGREE COFFEE there. I'm a coffee lover but if a choice is available, well it's only Kumbakonam degree coffee. ( The temple city Kumbakonam has it's own food culture , and it's ' Kadappa ' like sambar is popular. There a shop selling coffee powder and aroma of coffee is all pervading across the area. Mr. Ranjit's venture is a fantastic one and since his stress is on localization I suggest he adds Iyengar Bakeries ' Nippat ( a khar biscuit in the shape of the original flat Nippat) . This and the ubiquitous ' Kodabele ' 😮will go well with coffee . I'm a Tamilian brought up in Bangalore and in Mumbai for a few years now and this episode took me down a nostalgic trip down TN and Karnataka. This episode was superb and joins the ranks of some hid classic episodes. I savoured the video sip by sip !!!!

Visited this place based on your recommendation. Tried the darkest blend, the maharaja coffee. I'm not impressed. I mean, It was okish, not a kind of place one would wanna go regularly with a soul purpose to get their daily dose of coffee. In fact Maiyas which is 500m away serves a better cup of coffee than the best available at this place. I mean I tried coffee at this place and had a second cup at Maiyas, just for comparison. Maiyas is hands down, clear winner.

Taste is a very subjective thing..for sm one who is used to darshini coffee it takes a while to get used to other forms of coffee...

Maiyas serves a good cup of coffee, for sure, but very different in its style and mouthfeel. End of the day, it’s a matter of what appeals to one’s taste. No winners or losers there. Cheers! ☕️

Yes, this place has nothing special. No offence, many things can be improved. You know u r right when u can visually validate the crowd preference in front of Maiyas ❤️

I did visit them yesterday. Their coffee turnaround time is poor. It took 13 minutes & couple of request for my Cuppa. I had ordered Maharaja coffee. Hope this improves.

I got a chance to visit this place yday and I was so. Awe of this place.. The coffees tasted so good and it worth stopping there for a cup of Joe.. I had a chat with the owner and could understand his passion and motivation od starting this place.. All the best Ranjit, may you crush Starbucks and cafe like cockroaches

The guy Ranjit is very very arrogant. I’m born and brought up in Jayanagar. My mom is aged. Just told him to give a extra cup to warm up the coffee and he talks nonsense. Don’t encourage such arrogant people. Just got to 4th block you get maiyyas amazing coffee and much better coffee shops than this overrated place

Recently went there, nothing great compared to our slvs or darshini's. Kumbakonam coffee was good though. Maharaja coffee was not worth the price. Snacks are best to avoid as they are outsourced and dosent have the freshness in them. Finally I would end up saying will give 5 stars 🌟 for this video and half of it for ☕ .
