I agree w/ your assessment. I used to work 2 blocks west of Langer's (west of McArthur Park) and one of the perks was being walking distance from Langer's for lunch. I think it's got to be one of the absolute best pastrami sandwiches in the world -- it's been perfected over decades by Mr. Langer himself. Next time you go, try the #19 with the coleslaw in the pastrami sandwich -- super delicious and has that added crispness and flavor from the slaw. Cheers!

Diners with pie is a Los Angeles staple. We are known for our pies back from the 40s. My parents used to go to Norms on santa monica in the 60s. If you know you know. From the Lamplighter in Van Nuys (RIP) to Marie Calendars in Orange county in the 60s. Los Angeles pies are some of the best old skool dessers L.A. had

You go to apple pan for apple pie and get a hickory burger. Only you can judge the food because it's you that's eating it but that sandwich was supposed to have extra meat and didn't look like it had any mustard on it. That chip chilli thing looked terrible. Maybe look at local food blogs , go on KZbin and watch tastiest in LA, would be a Shame to just eat in tourist traps. Enjoy LA

@@FoodReviewClubUK nothing at all, Langer's had that great, traditional, deli vibe. The Brent's in Westlake has really nice outdoors patio; just a different, maybe more upscale, vibe. So happy you guys went to Howling Rays, knew you'd love it. You have to get some tacos al pastor.. Angeles TJ Tacos in Eagle Rock is great. Guerilla Tacos is great as well.
