From personal experience, every restaurant I have ever been that makes “soup of the day” serves it for AT LEAST a week, more typically a month and they will make a batch one to twice a week. If you so happen to be the unlucky fellow to receive a bowl that is on its 3rd or 4th re-heat, I pray you have a strong immune system.

Not all places do. Most places owned by people who are basically just business ppl will keep soup till it's gone, which is gross. If soup is made with any type of leftovers or almost expired stuff, it's gotta go after 2 days max...that what happens with ppl like you who know about food safety & quality. Wikipedia: “Many truffle oils are not made from truffles, but instead use manufactured aromatic compounds including 2,4-dithiapentane (one of many aroma active compounds that can be found in some truffle varietals) with an oil base. There are no regulations regarding the labeling of 2,4-dithiapentane and it can legally be called truffle aroma, truffle flavor, truffle concentrate or other similar terms, even though it is not extracted from truffles. In the United States, the ingredient may use the modifiers ‘organic’ or ‘natural’ as long as the components meet the federal requirements for those terms.” Also: “2,4-Dithiapentane is an organosulfur compound.” So gross! I had no idea, now I’m definitely never going to eat any of those truffle fries they sell at burger joints. Really grateful to know more about this.

I 99% HATE cabbage... specifically brussel sprouts. I don't care if they're roasted, toasted, grilled or gobbed with sweet honey. NEVER. Funny enough, though, the 1% I do like is Kimchi. I knew it was cabbage, but I tried it anyway since I'd never had that preparation. LOVED IT! I'm guessing the spice and fermentation destroyed the texture and cabbage flavor enough that it no longer resembled cabbage to my mouth. Kimchi ramen is my favorite flavor.

I don't have frozen pizza, I just made a pizza tonight, the dough took 15 min, piecing it together, took 5 and cooking took 20, and the I didn't have to babysit it the entire time, only about 5min actual work. It tastes amazing.

i like gordon ramsay, he is a nice guy from heart... but there are a few things about him i simply cannot stand. even if the food is indeed not pleasing, you at any cost, must not call it names. forget calling names, throwing the plate across the room is the most uncivilized for a human to do. what he calls names, there are people out in the world who have to eat that for a living. yet people out there, during any sort interaction with him, laugh it off..as if its humorous....when in reality i personally beleive they do it out of fear, that he is a notable personalty and that if they raise their voice against him, as he might have the power to end their career. and some just dont think for themselves and follow what and how others react.

I have never heard of truffle oil! Soup of the day? The same mayonnaise the whole world eats? This is jerks being snobs. I expected to hear things like Brussel sprouts. I want those 4 minutes of my life back. I couldn't go any farther into this video. Who cares what these snobs hate? They look down on anything that doesn't make them seem "special". Booooo

There's an episode where Ina makes "the perfect scrambled eggs on toast" and it was disgusting! When she takes a bite of it she only eats a small piece of the burnt toast and exclaims, "delicious." I always wondered how a great chef can screw up such a common breakfast food and now I know why.

I think the frozen pizza thing is crazy. I have eaten pizza in so many restaurants and its very bad quite often. Usually its far too dry because they add like no sauce and far too much grease. Also its not like everyone has the money and time to always cook fresh. Cooking fresh is all the time is such a huge task especially if you live together with a lot of people

I don't know who Alex Guarnaschelli, and I have never heard of anyone getting PTSD for having to shred carrots. Doesn't sound real. I mean, my sister got a really bad stomach bug after having eaten chocolate cake, and she was puking the cake up the whole night, and she said that's the worst thing she has ever thrown up, and it has taken her over 20 years to get over it. She still doesn't like chocolate cake, but she can eat it. But having to shred carrots? Come on! What about onions? I bet you get to peel and chop a LOT of onions when you are starting in the kitchen. Why did she ever decide to stay in restaurant business?
