Perfect symbiotic relationship: the Brits swill massive amounts of beer. Brewing beer provides massive amounts of yeast. Yeast is concentrated and added to a secret ingredient: equally massive amounts of salt. Marmite has enough salt to induce raging thirst. Which requires more beer... Devilishly clever... Heh.

Yep, that’s my go to for scrambled eggs too👍, and for omelette on toast. No salt in the eggs, just the Marmite on the toast. I live in Asia and, if I run out of the stock I bring back from trips to the U.K, I have to pay about £10 here in specialist supermarkets for a medium jar of the stuff. Totally worth it though as it’s an essential part of breakfast.🤗

Secret ingredient: salt (sodium chloride) stock (salt and animal stock or more likely vegetables stock) and Nitrates from the celery and likely nitrates as well

Not animal stock - it's marked as vegan (although strangely the 70g jar isn't described as vegan, but I think that must be because of possible cross-contamination from Bovril or another product)

Believe it or not, it's fairly easy to find in the U.S. Just look in the international section of the grocery store. I've found the best way to eat it is to make some buttered toast and then spread a THIN layer of Marmite on top. Warning, it is extremely salty, probably even more than soy sauce. It's not bad I think, but a little goes a long way.
