These turned out SO YUMMY! Family favorite right away, especially my husband who is the picky eater haha. I mean they were mismatched sizing and some stuck together, but overall I’d give myself a solid B. I didn’t have bacon so I added sautéed mushrooms and spinach, topped with pesto. Served with roasted chicken. So good! Thank you for the dinner idea Chef John!

This is so delicious and easy to make. It just takes a little time to make the gnocchi part of it. I just now made it for my family and they are in heaven. I did add some of the grease from making the bacon and fried the gnocchi. Thank you so much! Recipe not chewy at all.

I made a vegan version of these about a week ago - just sweet potato and semolina. I caramelised some leek and infused it with fresh thyme. Then braised the stems and leaves from a bunch of beetroot on the side. Sprinkled chopped walnuts on top. The combination of orange, purple and green was so gorgeous and the sweet flavour of the gnocchi paired perfectly with the earthy and savoury veggies. But honestly I think those gnocchi go with almost anything!

Just made a double batch of this recipe, and it was soooo good. Didn't do the bacon butter, but I did a wine sauce with caramelized onions and frozen peas to counter the pasta chewiness. I was honestly expecting a consistency like those korean rice sticks, which I don't particularly like... these are not that... super soft and pillowy. I cut mine about the size of mini marshmallows. Love them and will definitely do this again (not to mention I have a bunch uncooked/frozen for later). Thanks for the inspiration!

I had no sweet potato so I made regular potato gnocchi, and I had no bacon (it’s getting hard to find with this pandemic, you know), so I made a garlic cream sauce. Other than that it was exactly like yours, right down to the difficulty rolling the ropes. It was an incredibly delicious dish, very popular with my family, so thank you Chef John!

I remember seeing something like this on old school Good Eats.😊💭 Alton used a combination of potatoes, though. I imagine all sweet potato would produce a less dense gnocchi, which sounds very appealing. I'll probably end up trying it both ways. 😋 The gnocchi look so vibrant when they cook; I was in awe. 🤩 I wish I could smell it cooking. 🤤 Thank you, Chef. 🙂 💜💚
