I donated my kidney for my mom so I can see where Francia’s feelings are valid. Selena went back to heavily drinking after the transplant and just not taking care of herself. When you donate your kidney, you have to change your entire life and really watch what you eat/drink so I can see where it’d be upsetting to see the person you changed your life for to just not respect that.

This is a made up story that has been debunked several times. There is no evidence of Selena drinking heavily since her operation. Does she drink at all? Probably, just like many people who have gotten kidney transplants because you don’t have to stop consuming alcohol. It’s not a liver transplant. And Francia clearly did not take issue with Selena’s lifestyle choices nor did she feel ‘disrespected’ by them because they have remained close friends over the years-she was just at Selena’s 30th birthday party this July, and they made TikToks together while hanging out a few months ago. Please stop spreading stories you hear on the internet without any verification.

I dont know where you got your information but you don't have to change anything. I donated, my dad has donated and my Aunt has had my dad's kidney for 41 years. Our doctors said it doesn't effect our bodies at all. You don't get drunker quicker and you don't need to modify your intake of anything. Plus Selena can drink as much as anyone else.

@@juliescott1976 I got my information from my doctors. Donating a kidney lowers your kidney function by 30%. You should definitely watch what your put in your body as some things are hard for the kidneys to process even with 100% function. Protein, sodium, dark “cola” sodas, some vitamins and alcohol are all things I have to be careful with and watch. I would do some research just so you don’t end up with kidney issues in the future!

The only way the doctors would have known is if she went in for testing to see if she was a match. When you do this certain information regarding the matching is available to the receivers doctors and the receiver. There is lots of paperwork and several days of testing. So if Francia said this its a bold face lie. I donated my kidney and the receiver knew everything about the test results as soon as I did.

If they choose not to donate in the end, the doctors can just tell the recipient that "it wasn't a match". It's absolutely wrong that the potential donor didn't find out first.

There is a list for kidney donation, however you can donate your kidney to whoever you want as long as you match. I donated my kidney to my cousin. My dad donated his kidney to his sister (my cousins mom) and my friend got a kidney from one of her friends. That is the normal route. If your on a list it's because you either don't have relatives, matching relatives or any friends that match coming forward.

As a Miami, FL native (Born and raised) currently living in Seattle, please understand that Miami is not like what you see on television. You can only live like that if you're wealthy.
