I love how people will make fun of other people for being afraid of the dark (a reasonable fear, as most of our predators are more active at night), but are afraid of spiders (tiny creatures thousands of times smaller than a human that are completely harmless with literally 2 or 3 exceptions)

Why are you comparing the fear of the dark to spiders? Tiny creatures have the option to go thru holes, like your ears and mouth. While spiders actively ignore the holes most of the time sensing it is alive, it's not like that for every case. No, there aren't just 2 or 3 exceptions there are hundreds if not thousands quite frankly. The immense fear of spiders are called arachnophobia and every phobia is valid. Fearing olives or cotton or anything people would normally would see as stupid, they are all valid. I am guessing you have a fear of the dark and that's why you're ridiculing the fear of spiders. But just remember, spiders are also predators... And a lot of them are also active at night. Just saying. And there's not just small spiders brother. There's some bigger than a mouse. Take the the goliath bird-eater . Just saying. Every fear is reasonable, there's no need to put down another fear for a different one to shine.

The fact that you have trypophobia does not immediately mean you are afraid of them. Phobia actually means "An irrational fear or aversion to a certain object, being, or event." Trypophobia therefore means "An irrational fear or aversion to holes." I for an example love spiders, but have arachnophobia. I have an irrational aversion to them, not fear. I actually only have arachnophobia with certain species. the ones native to my area there are 2 the cat faced orb weaver (better known as the barn spider) because of their aggressiveness and the common house spider which for me unfortunately can be found just about everywhere in the summer and fall. It was the common house spider that let me know I have a very severe allergy to spider venom, and I basically acted to it the same way its insect prey does. fortunately for me when I found this out, I was actually in the ambulance barn less than 10 feet from the rescue apparatus because I actually coded for a while (heart stopped) from the bite. I get bite by something actually venomous to the general population like a black widow and I'll be dead before I hit the ground. Would take me out faster than a Fer-De-Lance one of the most venomous as well as ill-tempered snakes in South America.
