The next several videos are going to be hard to watch for many of you, but I think its important to tell this story and watch it unfold. I dont think a lot of people realize what hospitals are like when you are in critical condition and depend on others for care. There are legit nurses and doctors who actually care - they have cried along with me. They are there for the patient, but they are just a cog in the money making wheel that is the healthcare system in America. Unfortunately, nurses and doctors work long hours and deal with crisis situations daily. I remember living in Israel with bombing going off randomly and at all hours, and it puts a persons nerves on the top of their skin. I would imagine thats what its like to be a nurse or a doctor. That being said, there are some horrible case managers who are all about that almighty dollar and they have blood on their hands. Again, if you dont want to watch the vlogs for a couple weeks, I will understand. I am barely able to edit them, but I want people to know that this is the standard of care in America. You work your entire life and pay for health insurance. You think you're safe because you have it. You're not. Health insurance is worse than no insurance, because the hospital loses money on you with insurance set limits, so they try to get you out of the hospital as soon as possible, even if you're still in need of life-saving treatment and care, such as wound infections etc.... Dont stick your head in the sand on this one, everyone should know and be prepared for this.

Good that u expose the hospital, people have paid for the health insurance and this is what they get.i was completely disturbed see ur mom.though u say she is in come, she is aware of what's going around and can hear ,it was heart rending when she held ur fingers and wld not let it go. Let her live the way she is probably she may come out of it.she is not ready to go, thats what she wanted to tell u when she held ur hands so tight.dont given to what the doctors say, let her live till the lord wishes her to live.

Yes Andrea, I agree wholeheartedly. I’m the same age as you and have an amazing health insurance policy AND Medicare. The almighty money making ‘medical system’ is absolutely atrocious. And long term care facilities are HORRIFIC! You are stating the truth!! I manage both of my inlaws healthcare and it’s a FIGHT sometimes!! We’ve had to be boots on the ground caring for them INPATIENT to be sure they got the needed care. I could do a whole video on the importance of family advocates. We each need someone to live bedside 24/7 to be sure we get the PROPER & DESERVED CARE!!! It’s awful! Love to you Andrea!

I knew America had a problem with their Healthcare system, but I never thought it could be this bad. The things you've been describing in your videos are just horrendous... That is no way to treat a human being. No hospital is perfect, I live in Portugal (Porto more specifically) and hospitals here are by no means perfect, but people are treated with respect and care, and no one is discharged or left to die while there is hope for recovery.

I had to stop doing my housework. I was listening to you with my airpods on. Andrea I'm a nurse and there is no cause for anyone to speak to you in that manner or use those kind of words around you, your family or for crying out loud your mom! If I were you I would make a phone call and ask for the DON. Speak with the Director of Nursing and if you get nowhere with that person then I would go one step higher and get ahold of the administrator. You're not the only person they're speaking to in that manner. I am so very sorry. Please follow up with upper management if they continue to treat you in that manner. Prayers

Hi Andrea, the first part of this vlog made me cry but I will watch every vlog you send. I learned about how bad hospitals can be at an early age because my Mom was in them a couple of times. Once she had pneumonia and the doctor thre up his hands and said "she's just slipping away, we can't do anything". She pulled through but then it was discovered she had Lupus. It was hard to get the doctors to search harder for ways to treat her. She ended up dying when I was 13. This stuff happened even before health insurance was a "thing". I knew that when they made health insurance mandatory that we were screwed. The big three...car, house, and health insurance. To me, insurance is like gambling. You pay all this money into it and don't file any claims for years. Then, something happens and you have to use it. After that they find a reason to prevent you from renewing. Sending prayers for your Mom and Dad. ❤

@tinydancer742611 ай бұрын
The horrible thing about that woman and her comments is that, if comments like that are said in the halls, voices carry and you can count on her voice carrying into patient rooms. I would have been going to the office of the head of nursing staff and filing a complaint. My mother was in a long term care facility, and there were far too many CNA's with horrible attitudes about/to residents and spoke to and about them inappropriately. I can't even remember how many time I insisted on meetings with the nursing director about what I witnessed and what my mother reported to me (both what she would see and hear directed to other residents, not to mention what she was on the receiving end of). There were a few times I had to go to the administrator of the facility to get things to change.

Bring a kit with you to the hospital. Lotion, very soft toothbrush, etc. because no one else is doing it. Brush, chap stick etc and bring it home with you or it will be gone in a minute. An aide may borrow it for someone who needs it and then forget and leave it there. But it WILL disappear! They sell these huge q-tip looking things at the pharmacy the size of a big lollipop you can use to clean the inside of her mouth or so she can get the sensation of a drink.

Does Florida allow family to be paid caregivers? It might be something you want to look into if you need to move your mom home. That's if you want to do it. You could also hire other people. I've lived in Oregon and Washington and got paid by each state to care for my mom. If I didn't do it, she'd be in assisted living and I'd rather me do it for as long as I can.

For them to refer to it as a death wing is very insensitive and unprofessional. It goes to show that for some of those health workers, it really is just a job and they have no care whatsoever of their thoughtless actions. Those kind of people shouldn't be working in healthcare full stop!! I know because I experienced certain people that looked after my Mum and caused certain problems so I was quick to make sure they stay far away from her!. A break from your mom & onto a pleased distraction. With all the different eggs you have hatching in your tank, I suggest you purchase 2 breeder fish net aquariums. Basically, it's a net box that hsngs on the side of the tank, which protects the eggs and babies from being eaten. Then when they are large enough, release them into general population. That's how I always did it because I couldn't stand the thought of either being eaten.

I’m speaking back the curse that woman gave “death wing” and sending the words back to where it came from (wherever!) and deactivating its effects! God Himself will decide Esther’s release from pain! And He knows we are all rooting for her to wake up from the coma!! I speak life over her and repel all unGodly energy in and around the hospital room she’s in!! Amen!! Eventually Andrea you will decide for your mom but you will also base your decision on the closest you think aligns with God’s decision! Tell Esther to speak her silent thoughts to God to tell Him to do for her what she wants from Him. There’s strength even in weakness.

The more I think about it, the more pissed off I am by what that lady said about the deathward. I really hope you find a good hospice to care for Grandma while she recovers.

You should have called her out on the death wing in front of her and definitely make complaints higher up in writing
