Chip you and I talked a few years ago at the Detroit auto show and I was so impressed that you were the same in person talking to a regular gear head the same way you are on tv. I never expected that, most people are full of themselves but you’re a regular guy. I’m an old fart now, I was born in 56. I’ve been a lifelong hot rodder, right now I have a blown, tubbed and caged 74 vette that I have been working on for over 10 years. I sure wish I could afford to have you finish it, I’m done with the engine and drivetrain but I have no imagination to do the interior. Oh well maybe someday yet! Take care buddy!

Aww! What a fantastic story! I love that a good life-long friendship blossomed out of his shop doing Scott's car. Love the old Cadillacs. They have a special place in my heart. My grandparents had quite a few Caddies while i was growing up. I always thought they were so classy. Cadillacs have lost their prestige now..but they were once the King of the road. If someone offered me a brand new Cadillac or a classic I would definitely take the classic any day over a new one.

It’s required in all 50 states in the USA

@@tucksmith8300 Bullshit-I live in Washington state . I have a collector plate -they only issue you one. You can display your last plate, (which I have on) or a club plate, or a novelty plate, or nothing! 5/6/24.

@@mikethomas5797 All states are different
@garyjackson35318 ай бұрын
Depends on the state. Collector cars are often treated differently than daily drivers. Most states allow you to register a license plate from the year the car was made, to add to the charm.
@TheInsaneShecklador8 ай бұрын
It varies by state and even in some of the states where it is required there are exceptions for specialty cars.

Hi Chip, This probably sounds adolescent - I live in Venice. There's a few cool cars here. 66-67 GTO is my favorite. There's a clerk at a supermarket across from me. He has a 2004 GTO with some nice mods. It sounds great. I fantasized an 04 GTO customized to mimic a 67. Would that be a project worth doing?

Chip talks like he paid for these cars out of his own pocket and did most of the work himself. The show did these and Chip got paid. My grandfather gave me a 68 Corvette when I graduated (it wasn't new at the time) and he took less credit than Chip does for the cars on Overhaulin'.

Foose doesn't need to do anything if it's his show and his name's on it with his design, and that's all it needs. Dave kindig doesn't do nothing ever just stands around and barks orders and Drew's pictures like Foose.

The worst show ever aired. The original pimp my ride was 100 percent better. Cars were done up for the average person versus this one geared to selected individuals.

I’ve wondered how well a car that’s been built in a couple weeks - including tear down - would hold up. Even one that’s been babied. Well, if Chip Foose & crew built it, it holds up great! If another shop built it - maybe not so good. Ask me how I know…🫤
