Great analysis evie. I listened to the Kieran maguire podcast before archie and the rest got sold, he said Leeds were in a good financial place.🙄 Remember when wide mouth frog went to scum for £30m when we paid £18m and we were further in debt 😮 Totally don't understand football finance 🙈

Very thoughtful Subject Evie. We all know the top 6 teams want to protect their spots, they do not want a Villa or a Leeds because they know the potential. Baseball is the only other major free market sport and in baseball low market teams can compete with the Yankees and Dodgers because of something that English fans dont want ? Playoffs. Dodgers and Yankees constantly finish atop their divisions but all it means is they qualify for the playoffs to compete for a championship. If the Prem's top 6 teams played a FA Cup style playoffs for the championship ? Then the stranglehold loosens imo Dodgers and Yankees combined have won one championship since 2009

Are you stupid ? It’s the top teams being hindered by the stupid ffp rules for that exact reason, they don’t want United winning everything like they used too, so they stop them spending money. They are trying to stop it as sport and want too make it good for business, so try to even out spending to stop the top clubs pulling away.

Matchday revenue amounts to less than 10% of income for the Premier League top six while salaries are 40 to 50% of all expenses. Yet tickets increase alongside player salaries. A cap on both is desperately needed.

Hi Evie, financial rules with “false Teeth” … no bite! Also the top 6 have Solicitors and Lawyers who will spend years in Court, waiting until the Guvners of football break … and then change rules or allow teams to win without sanction… It’s a disgrace … But Leeds are not straying into the this fray … I applaud the 49ers for this … X

It's the teams with the best legal machines behind them that may run football for some time. The 'spirit of the game' is in all sports not just football but it seems the phrase is now old fashioned. Maybe we will hear the term' legal loop hole' more and more.Great vid Evie, it has got me thinking.

@@discourseofpeacocks The Football Governance Bill was introduced by the Conservativatives this year but they ran out of time to get it through before the election but fortunately a lot of the work was done at various committees and Lisa Nandy and her department have decided to carry on with the work already done. This Act of Parliament will come into law in 2025 and as well as preventing us from being named RB Leeds (thank god), should, if it has any teeth, also prevent future breakaway "super-leagues" and also hopefully start sorting out the mess that football finances have become. I don't believe the government had the power to stop the breakaway before now.

I never knew about all these financial rules, but by the sounds of things a lot of clubs have manipulated this. Not only that it sounds like their is some kind of cheating going on, such as what you mentioned about a 1 million pound player been sold for 19 million. Something isn't right. But as for the big teams, it's just another case of the rich get rich and the poor get poor. Financial gains need to be more even throughout the leagues, also seems as though favoritism springs to mind.

Yes it all smells a bit weird that someone is able to be sold for 19 times their valuation. It's not even like he was important to Villa and therefore, his price would be inflated because of his worth to the club. In that case we should have put Archie's release clause to well above 100 million

Evie the Problem is you have the PL and then the Championship. Now both leagues have their own Rules . This leaves a Grey Zone where Clubs Like City with an Army of lawyers move around in. Now in Germany all Professional League s are Gouverneurd by one Body . So IT doesn't Matter who is who the Rules apply For every Club. The Gap between PL and Championship is growing every season. If we go up What are our chances of staying there?

There's obviously an agenda to protect the established top 6 clubs. Look at Newcastle. Supposed to be richest club but can't spend any money but Chelsea just seem to do what they want. How Leeds can still be under a financial restriction with all the players we have sold, is ridiculous. Leicester have got away with it.

One piece of unsolicited advice You've done really well to get so many followers so quickly. A lot of that is from your association with Joe which means you've got loads of subs after about 3 videos which is unusual I would suggest that you make your videos a lot shorter. 10 minutes max. I suspect that most new youtubers won't get views from long videos. You've got a lot of followers but I think you might struggle to build on that with 20+ minute vids. All the other Leeds guys keep their vids under 10 minutes except maybe Joe and Conor who are very well established. That includes max, Charlie, jack, Joe b, ger, Paul etc Just my twopenneth. I might be in the minority but I've not watched any of your vids because they are too long, but had they been shorter I would have

@BMG5420 thanks for the feedback. I personally like the longer videos because that is my preference. I respect all of the creators and more that you have mentioned, however, I am not a copycat nor am I trying to be them. If I was to do as you suggest then I wouldn't be being honest or truthful to myself. I am making videos because I am making content I like to both watch and be a part of. I respect your decision to not watch my videos, although, I wonder why you took the time to comment on my video just to tell me that you're not going to watch. Fair enough if you've watched it and the content isn't to your taste, but to base something on a timing issue, I believe says more about your capacity to take in other opinions, than my ability to make interesting videos that others like

Thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, I didn't comment on the video just to tell you that I hadn't watched it. I commented - which took me about a minute - to say that you might find that you get more viewers if you make them a bit shorter. And to clarify further, I don't think me not watching it is an indication of my capacity to take on other opinions. It's very simple. I've started watching a couple of your videos and not found them interesting enough to devote 20 odd minutes to them. I personally would probably be more inclined to carry on watching if they were shorter. But if you want to do it your way I'm sure it will work out fine

Great subject! The answer is set a Cap on wages and Transfers in one season. Everybody has the same chance. You can make exceptions for newly promoted clubs, let them spend more in the first season. There is ways to make it more competitive but the Cartel is preventing competition Well done for highlighting this
@discourseofpeacocks

Forest and EVARton also got away with cheating and had to thank unflexible Kompany, Hecky and Luton for being that woeful. Any other season they would have been down and in bigger trouble than we were 20 years ago. I've taken a disliking to EVARton in recent years for the way they "stayed up" on and off the pitch with Fat Frank in charge.

@Section20Ul
@Section20Ul 3 ай бұрын
Don't put Man City in the same bracket as the Red Cartel clubs. We may be a top 6 side but, we are in no way part of that old boys club. The rules you're moaning about were put in place specifically to stop Man City breaking into those cosy top 4 champions league spot money places, that they divvied up between themselves, every season for decades. Like The EPL isn't actively trying to destroy City for upsetting their little red apple cart. And I'll point out, it's Man City who have had APT rules amended so that they are now not breaking actual laws, which benefits Newcastle hugely. You want to blame someone, then blame Man U Liverpool and Arsenal and all the other clubs that followed suit with them and voted these laws in. As those laws were brought in to protect those 3 clubs.
@discourseofpeacocks
@discourseofpeacocks 3 ай бұрын
I don't disagree that Man city aren't the worst culprit with breaking FFP as that is not what their charges are about, however, surely you can see where the frustration of other clubs comes in? You are owned by a sheikh with practically limitless wealth and you have been able to bribe and use that wealth to delay repeatedly and cover up where the funds for Man city are actually coming from. I am not blaming Man City directly, I am saying that there are very large floors in the premier league's rules and certainly questionable checks over suitable ownership (I would say Newcastle are in that category too, however, they maybe joined the band wagon too late) Then there's the questions over the potential misuse of power when it comes to certain referees being flown all over the world by the owners/ those high up in Man City. All of these issues point to the Prem and the FA having many floors in how the run football in England.

@@discourseofpeacocks You're making shit up to fit your narrative. Bribes and cover up's.... See this is the problem with spouting shit you've heard from big Dave down the pub. Who was bribed? What was covered up? You seem to be in the know, so surely the person who took the bribe can be named. Oh wait! You don't know and you're regurgitating the same old lies and made up shit like it's facts. And we've used our wealth to delay what? Some might say we've stood up and defended ourselves, rather than bend the knee to the cartel clubs and just do what ever they say. Good and long may it continue. And boohooing about the fact your billionaire owners (probably some American investment group, That sound totally legit and not bogus in any way) won't spend as much as man city's billionaire owners do... Aawww That is such a shame. Maybe get on to them to put a hand in their pocket, they can spare it. There are many flaws in the rules the Premier league brought in to stop city from challenging, as they were rushed in and badly thought out. Not City's fault. We voted against those rules. it was plain to see they were nothing but a protection scam. What is a suitable owner? Please describe in great detail what a suitable owner is and what an unsuitable one is. That should be interesting. .. Stick to facts rather than fake clickbait news and waffle excuses as to why your football club is shite. I'll give you a hint. Its the owners.

As the great George Carlin said "It's a great big club......And you aren't in it" The moment ordinary fans like me had to try and understand what the hell amortization was.....? When a single member of an organisation has so much power that it dwarfs the same of the governing bodies, then sporting integrity is over. EPL, EFL, PGMOL, media, and politicians, all could quite easily be bought off by the owners of a football club. The honest truth is however, the vast majority of football fans just want that same power for their club. Football really is nutty isn't it? 😂

Exactly, everyone has their price in order to turn the other cheek. The people at the top have such wealth and status that clubs that aren't there, have no chance of being repeatedly successful. There will be fluke seasons or two, but nothing that could actually rock the boat

I am not even sure what 'being gaslit' means, but I am old. Supporting Leeds United since 1970. MOT! gaslit - lied to? Agree with what you say about teams going up and coming straight back down. Surprised Brentford have stayed up, Bournemouth also... little clubs that have survived. Whereas, Leeds who were badly run came back down in 2 seasons. Quite sad really. Everton was a scam, they should have had points deducted when Leeds went down. The real reason is because BIG clubs they have lots of $$$ ... "The law is for the rich". Nothing ever changes. Just look at how Arsenal cheat at corners always blocking the goalkeeper! How is it they always get away with that? A newly promote side touches the keeper they get a free kick against them... sometimes watching EPL is so frustrating because of 'rules for some' but 'not for everyone'.
