Muslim or not, people are free to have a choice as to what they do at Christmas. As a Pagan I celebrate yule on 22nd December but have no problem giving Christmas presents to Christian family members. Salah's kids are raised in Britain and it is his right to have Christmas decorations even if he is Muslim.
@thenumber5busКүн бұрын
But the tree the presents and some other Xmas associated thing s have nothing to do with Christianity. Some of it has been brought it by other 'traditions' but if you wish to celebrate it then fine same as if ppl wish to celebrate Eid or other religious festivals. Heck a lot seems to celebrate At Patrick's day that are not Irish but I suspect that's don't to getting pissed as an excuse 😁

Except Islam shouldn’t be recognised as a religion as it has 0 ties to Christianity and Judaism even though they claim it does. Yule starts on the winter solstice and lasts until January 1st. So, it started on the 21st this year. It encompasses the 25th. Gift giving on the 25th comes from the pagan Roman tradition of Saturnalia. All of the Christian festivals are on the dates of pre-existing pagan festivals. As for him 'having the right', sure he can do what he wants, but not according to the Islam practiced by the majority of Muslims in the world.

A Christmas tree is originally a pagan germanic tradition. Having a Christmas tree and giving his children gifts makes him neither more of a Christian nor less of a Muslim. However, if he features a nativity scene in his pix that's more argumentative! Sadly Christians in Europeans have lost their Christoan faith, and have reduced religious feasts to customs and traditions that has to do very little with the essence of the feast!! Christ is born, the son of God humbled Himself and took on a human nature to teach us how to love, by dying for us and taking on our sins and saving us from eternal damnation. That is the cause for the celebration!! A savior is born!

Why doesn't GB news read out some of thousands of positive comments on Salahs website from Muslims, Hindus, and other faiths supporting Christmas, especially with children. By comparison there were only a few criticising him. Most people especially with children, enjoy Christmas, a tree, and lights and still have their own religion.
