That’s his prime, his first season for PSG. Even better than he was at Barça or Santos. Unfortunately the first major injury of his career came soon after… otherwise we would have seen this Neymar play like this for the last 7/8 years… (actually he DID play very similar in every season for psg, the problem was he only played like 20 games per season due to injuries)

Basically, Europe wanted to stop the way Neymar plays. This whole (half) season is undoubtedly among the highest levels that any indivual has ever achieved. People will try to downplay Ligue 1 with all their might, but Ligue 1 might even have better defenders than La Liga. Different decade yes, but Ronaldinho himself said it was easier to play in La Liga as the defenders were far from as physical there than they were in Ligue 1. Neymars career could have been better, yes, but one would be a fool to suggest that he doesnt leave a legendary legacy. Also, leaving Barca wasnt the mistake people proclaim. I always say, Cr7 and Messi are not better than Neymar. There are just a few differences. One does this better and the other does that better but better than Neymar , they are not. What makes people put Messi and Cr7 above Neymar is the number of ballon'dor Messi and Cr7 have won. However, if we are talking about playing football, I mean , individual performance without being surrounded by great players to make you achieve results, Cr7 does not get close to Neymar. Neymar does way more in a match than CR7. Messi and Neymar are both almost the same with Neymar being more technical, Neymar has better dribbling skills, and Messi is more goal oriented, Messi scores more goals. So, Mess is no better than Neymar and Neymar is not better than Messi. there are just a few differences between them. If I am a coach, I want both of them playing together!
