I was at that Raiders game (im a raiders fan) with my father- a multi decade patriots fan. Hearing him in my right ear cheering, getting confused, and then screaming "NOOOO" at the Jones x Jones interception will live in my head forever. He was the only thing I heard in that stadium, i couldn't even hear my own roars over the crowd. Unforgettable, its his birthday tomorrow and I cant wait to bring it up for the 100th time.

I think its a combo of 2 things. These guys are obviously immature, they are 21 year olds playing a game for a living, not real adults. And then factor in that in the NFL most of players get very few opportunities to have a highlight reel play. So when these immature guys have their moment they can't help themselves and feel they need to showboat or make a spectacle. And remember these guys were all probably hot shit in high school and college and probably never chastised for anything. Its not like they had Denzel from Remember the Titans making them run 10 miles for thinking football was fun.

That's incorrect. If he took off his helmet on the Panthers sideline, then that would have been okay. If you look carefully, he started removing his helmet in the end zone. These players know that rule. It's also in college and high school.

Last year, I was at the Idaho vs. Sacramento State in Moscow and Idaho kicked a fieldgoal to put them up by 3 with 1 second left in the game. Idaho pooch kicked the ball, and Sac State received the kicked, and for some reason, Sac State threw a lateral pass where Idaho recovered the ball and ran it into the end zone all the while the crowd was going nuts in celebration. That first clip reminded me of that game.

I'm just gonna say it, to clear something i see up Showboating is very prevalent in the Black community. You have to understand; the excitement of realizing you're gonna accomplish something can be quite exciting, especially for a group of people who haven't seen a lot of accomplishment first hand. Point an audience and TV cameras at them and yeah! On top of that, you only score a few times at these events. It's not like basketball where points are scored every possession. You gonna see some madness, but remember where these guys come from and what little a lot of them had. Showboating is a form of celebration Basically, these guys just got a little too excited and couldn't contain it, thus making some mistakes. Lighten up. It's a game. These are games.
