The Mahomes pick will go down as one of the best draft day trades and picks of all time. Remember Mike Ditka trading the Saints entire draft to move up to pick Ricky Williams? Obviously that was a complete disaster, but you can make a pretty strong case that Mahomes would actually be worth giving up an entire draft for because he's been THAT good.

Yeah EVERYONE slept on Mahomes; the Chiefs didn’t. This is why it pays to have a good to great front office. People who know how to scout before they draft certain players. Dorsey and Reid did an outstanding job of pulling that trade off and landing in a perfect spot to draft Mahomes.

This guy has changed our entire franchise forever. 3 Super Bowls in 4 or 5 years, 2-1 in those games, 5 straight AFC Championship appearances, 3-2 in those games; 5 division championships. Countless records broken. 2 5000 yard seasons in 6 years. 2 MVP, 2 SB MVP, and 2 Super Bowl Champions. 5 Pro Bowls in 5 seasons. If Dee Ford doesn’t jump off insides then the Chiefs would have been in the Super Bowl 5 out of 6 years. And he would have gotten the chance to win 3 rings in 4 appearances. But that’s alright. 2-1 in 3 appearances is still pretty impressive.

With hindsight, between the two teams that traded for the pick for Mitch Trubisky, only the Bears will want a mulligan. While yes, Thomas was a bust, and the 49ers did trade away a pick to the Saints that became Alvin Kamara, but the 2018 3rd rounder they got became their "man in the middle" of their front 7: Fred Warner. Him and Nick Bosa are the core pieces of a very good front 7 for the 49ers as of 2023.

I disagree with the Myles Garrett A+. As a Browns fan, I really like him, but his sacks come at times when it’s not impactful. He’ll get 4 sacks against a crappy team and then not get another one for a couple weeks. The stat sheet lies about him for sure. I think people would be crazy to think he’s better than TJ Watt in any aspect.

Most Mocks were either correct in them taking Thomas, some felt that they would get their safety stud in Jamal Adams... and countless 49ers fans were rooting for the 49ers to go and get CMC as far back as when Chip Kelly was losing games and us saying "At least all this losing will get us CMC". It isn't hind sight to know that CMC was going to be a PERFECT fit in Kyle Shanahan's scheme and it was criminal that he wasn't drafted by the 49ers. At least he is where he belongs now.

You have to factor in that when you use a first round pick on a running back, you are really only planning on getting five years out of him, and maybe tagging him. They got 3 good years and ZERO value in trade. Anyone would tell you using a top 10 pick on a RB that you get 3 years out of is a busy.

Trubisky took a garbage team to the playoffs…he has as many playoff appearances as Watson, as many or more playoff wins as Watson, Baker Mayfield, Kirk Cousins, pre-2021 Stafford, Derek Carr and Lamar Jackson.
