They have drawn one, so 15 of the last 16 games. I've been watching football since the start of the Alex Ferguson era. I recall Wenger signing Arteta from Everton because we couldn't afford a fully established midfielder due to financial constraints. Wenger then made him captain, which surprised fans as Arteta was seen as a boring and negative player. Ironically, Arteta has now become our manager and been given funds, which he has largely squandered. This is why Liverpool have managed to overtake Arsenal so swiftly with a manager who seemed to appear out of nowhere. Arteta's ego has cost the club dearly. While we've been consistently good in the league, we've been equally consistently bad in cup competitions. I expect us to be chewed up once we start facing well-run clubs in the Champions League, whereas I expect Liverpool to make a significant impact. Why do I feel that way?

For arteta, he thought he must be right about his tactic from the start of the game. He could have put kiwior in for partey and move timber to right back but I don’t know, maybe he thought if for 55 mins, they could play so well, why changed? Can’t blame partey for playing rb. Look at how Villa open up the gap between arsenal midfielders and defenders by holding the ball a bit longer so runs can be made, that was brilliant in that 8 mins that resulted to 2 goals. Fresh legs from the bench at 2-2 might work for arsenal but arteta didn’t do it. Fair result for Villa but unfortunate for Arsenal.
