I've watched all of Arsenal's games this season. We're nowhere near last season's levels of performance and yet we're still close, pointswise, to where we were last season. In fact, we've played better sides. I'd be more concerned as an opposition fan because they will click and they will get better.

There is a few reasons for why we haven't been playing as fluidly as last season. Firstly, it is changes to personnel (xhaka out, Rice and Havertz in). So they need time to get fully up to speed with tactics. Secondly is injuries to certain players. Mainly Partey, Jesus and recently Martinelli. Finally, the tactics. Arteta is using different approaches and tactics to each game to try and help us have an advantage. Playing like we did last season was great, but also unstastinable as you run out of energy towards the end of the season, as we all saw. City have shown it with their usually slow starts, then the 2nd half of the season is where they tend to really push on. Don't get me wrong, I do think our fluidity will return more so as the season goes on. Just don't expect the exact same football as last season.

As much as our football last season was fantastic to watch....the high tempo and energy in each game isn't sustainable for the whole season, especially if you end up going far in all competitions. So I'm glad Arteta I'd adapting more to games because not only do we not want to be predictable. But also not every great team, or any team for that matter plays the same sort of football. So adapting to each team/game means not only should we be set up to beat the opposition, it makes it harder for the opposition to set up againest us and even what line ups to expect.

Now lets say it was not a masterclass and we offered no threat like he says, how is it that all substitute contributed to the goal, what a coincidence? If you watch at the replay again its clear that was a well planned move. Tomiasu's look on Foden before running into that space, Rice's gesture to Partey to pass the ball to that space, how Walker found himself not knowing what to do leaving Martinelli free, clearly that was a well orchestrates move. You didn't beat us comfortably, maybe, but who said we needed to beat you comfortably? We just needed a win, whether comfortably, from a deflected ball, free kick, penalty, own goal, we don’t care how the win comes as long as its a win.

I'm an Islington born gooner, now living in Stockport (a couple of miles under Manchester). 50% of my boys round here are city fans. All but 1 of them have a more rational take on the game, and there's been top banter thrown back and forth! The one guy was going on about how Rico put it into the net 5 minutes after the whistle went should have stood, and saliba should have had red for putting haaland on his arse. Also that kovacic didn't deserve a yellow even for the first one, because "he went into the challenge trying to get the ball, and circumstances changed after he had committed". Some city fans are sound and able to back and forth the banter. I've found that they are exclusively from a "dynasty" background. They support because their dad does, their uncle does, they've been going since they could walk, saw them in the championship AND the champions league. Arsenal are now cooking at 70°C, because all the plastics are starting to melt down!

Hamza the reason Arsenal didn't really have much attacking chances was because Pep Guardiola stacked the midfield in attempts to stop Arsenal from transitioning through the midfield which effectively stopped City from having the width they usually have that will allow for the opposition to be pulled out of shape for space to be exploited in behind. Your manager rated Arsenal enough to sabotage his own attack to nullify us and we decided to not try and press and attack too much in order to nullify whatever City wanted to do so that's why the match was so stale. Alot of football fans don't seem to understand tactics. The only way the game was going to be win by either side was by an error of some sort, a corner or set piece goal or by a lapse in concentration and since both teams were on job off the ball and in their defensive structure a goal like that while not the best makes sense given how City set up. Arsenal's are not bragging about the goal we're bragging about how we found a way to nullify you and still get the win so yes.
