The fact that this shoe has a midfoot shank and the flagship shoe does not tells me that Nike has too many people designing and making decisions about footwear that don’t know anything about footwear.

@@NinjaFoodieGrill23 it has a single shank. I think Dr. Zach called “double thickness” or something like that, but it’s a single shank. Besides that it’s an incredibly cheap flimsy shoe. It’s nice to try on but there’s almost no substance to it at all. That doesn’t change anything about what’s going on with the Freak line. Whoever is in charge of that has no clue what they’re doing. Each shoe has successively gotten more cheap and lazy since the 3, but they’re still raising the price every year.

Nike's quantity over quality approach is really spreading the brand thin especially in the basketball space. They need way fewer signature athletes and more guys wearing the team shoes or GT series. More concentration would improve the product across the board.

Signature athletes are fine but they don't need like 3 models per athlete. Kyrie when he was still Nike has his signature his fly traps and his lows.

I've always said the same thing! They are running out of designs/ideas for the signature athletes, because they have too many! Peak Nike Basketball was when only KD, LeBron, & Kobe were signature athletes. They should keep it to 3 only & let the others wear the GT series. The 3 Sig Athletes should be KD, LeBron, & Giannis. Giannis has been a top 3 player for 5 years now. His line has always been underwhelming aesthetically & performance-wise, he deserves way better. Imo, guys like Kyrie, PG, Booker, & Ja shouldn't have gotten signature shoes, at least not from Nike. From other brands it'll be okay, but Nike supposed to be the gold standard, & they haven't really done much to deserve their own sig. All of their designs could've gone towards Giannis' shoe line. Guys like Kobe, KD, LeBron, & Giannis have all been the best player in the league at some point, or at least top 3. Kyrie, PG, Booker, & Ja hasn't come close. Giannis didn't even get his shoe until he won his first MVP.

The GT series is ironically a lot better than most of their signature shoes, especially if you know what you are looking for. I've loved the Jump 2, Hustle 2, and Hustle 3. Energetic cushioning thanks to ludicrous amounts of zoom air.

The immortality line has been a huge hit for Nike. As a teacher, it’s a great looking, affordable, and good performing athletic shoe. They’re widely available, come in sizes all the way from preschool to adult, and come in all kinds of attractive colourways.

Man I can't understand how nike can make this shoe and sell it for 85 bucks and then turn around and put out what they put out for $150 overall. It doesn't make sense. Especially knowing that they will have the immortality line on sale for 65 bucks in a couple months.

unfortunately, it's all business and making money for stakeholders. A kid who is a Giannis fan will buy the signature model over the budget model every day. $150 > $85 = Great for Nike.

Let me share with you my personal experience with the 4s. They took 3-4 weeks to break in, something which I find absolutely hilarious. Secondly - I've got narrow feet and the metal/plastic whatever they are, eyelets were hurting my feet during the break in period, like crazy. Shoes cost $80, for $20 more I got Splashes that are crazy comfortable straight off the box and are just far superior, in my opinion. I don't see myself buying any Giannis shoes anytime soon and Nikes - definitely not as many as I used to!

Honestly I'm not surprised that Immortality 4 is slightly better than main model Freak 6 since it's based on Immortality 3 when nike cares a lil bit more than now. I wouldn't be also surprised if Dame Certified 3 will be better than Dame 9. By the way, do you have Decathlon in US? Their Tarmak Fast 900 low looks promissing. Isiaia Cordinier wore them at Olympics in PE version.

Hi, I've been looking at basketball/volleyball shoes for awhile and I've tried a lot (even go up 1/2 a size or a sizer bigger) and still my feet are too wide and it's uncomfortable. Any recommendations? I've tried the asics sky elites, trae young 3, Son of Flash. I'm currently using a 2-year old pair of hyperdunk X low, which I had to break in for quite sometime before feeling comfortable.

Great review- it sometimes feels like if you don't play much it's like why not purchase the budget model. It won't break down on you for a while. Nike is unexplainable on this shank thing! One on here and nothing on the 39🤔

Lesson: If you're a huge fan of Giannis and want to buy his shoes, get any pair of the Immortality line. It's more affordable and always outperforms the signature line. Plus, the designs of the Immortality line are cooler compared to the latter.

I feel like too many NBA players have signature shoes now, especially with Nike. As a result the importance of making those models great has really dropped off. I'd much rather see the signature/flagship models be truly premium and then the rest of Nike's focus being put into great team shoes or at least designed with quality and playability in mind rather than a bunch of fancy colourways and performance lacking as a by-product.

@FootDoctorZach You know I've tried the puma shoes and other stuff, but I have the best shoes from Nike. Idk they feel FIRM YK, but due to their recent decisions, i feel completely blindsided. I took the ja 1s and they're FANTASTIC, however there's a little glue issues. I wanted the freak 5s, but the funny thing is I'm Z completely IN THE BLIND. In India, you don't get the WOWs, and pumas aren't for me. Idek but I can't really trust Nike for some reason. Now that I think of it a lot of my bike shoes don't rip, their glue comes off or some stupid reason. It's bad for Indian customers.
