This month's paper is presented by Footsteps Festival Vice Chair and person with lived experience of pain (and recovery) Niki Jones.
We do not record the subsequent discussion which is always valuable and wide ranging - we do this to ensure a free and safe space to express ourselves - so come along as all are welcome!
“Journal Club” is for ANYONE who is interested in research into pain, in any way. Whether you are someone who lives with pain, a professor of neuroscience, a new PhD student, a clinician or someone who cares for someone who lives with pain or any combination of those - we want the widest and most informal and relaxed discussion of pain science via new (or interesting) journal papers.
*The first paper of 2024 is looking at whether “rewarding approach behaviour attenuates the return of pain-related avoidance after successful extinction…” or….does giving a reward to do the painful thing (again) cause less fear and avoidance….and does this have implications for management of persistent pain?
