Synopsis:
“Footsteps in the Wind” is an animated short film to Sting’s song “Inshallah".
Based on the harsh and intense reality of refugees around the world, this film broaches a narrative told through the eyes of children that never give up on their dreams.
Little Noor and her brother Josef see their lives torn apart when an unexpected event hits home. Pushing them into a journey over the seas and mysterious lands.

American INSIGHT’s annual Free Speech Film Festival encourages filmmakers from around the world to speak out against injustice by submitting their FREE SPEECH FILMS. Championing different perspectives and learning to listen to other opinions is vital to the future of Democracy.
Each year, out of SIX final Free Speech Film Festival “Official Selection” films, ONE film is selected as the Free Speech Award Winner by audiences of all ages around the globe, as well as by residents of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: a "cradle of liberty” for decades before the American Revolution.
The Free Speech Film Festival is unique in that it showcases films from around the world, while also providing a marketing platform, networking opportunities, and educational workshops to filmmakers in need of exposure and visibility. Following the film’s selection, the film will be spotlighted in American INSIGHT’s newsletter, throughout the site, on social media, in monthly SPEAK EZ salons and more.
ONE of the SIX Free Speech "Official Selection" Award-Winning Directors will be chosen to receive the 2023 Free Speech Film Festival Award, and receive $1,000.
All SIX Free Speech “Official Selection” Award-Winning films (and their Directors) will be promoted over American INSIGHT’s social media channels in perpetuity.
All SIX Free Speech “Official Selection” Award-Winning Directors are interviewed for the Free Speech Spotlight Blog, and co-promoted in perpetuity on our websites and on Eventive, our distribution platform.
Students enrolled in American INSIGHT's online course “Make History Every Day!” write about your film for the Free Speech Spotlight Blog for years to come!
Each of our SIX Free Speech “Official Selection” Award-Winning Directors is featured in a monthly online SPEAK EZ Workshops with students enrolled in "Make History Every Day!" as part of American INSIGHT’s Free Speech Center: an online educational resource that offers a fresh outlook on the core values and foundations of America’s legal system.
American INSIGHT’s annual Free Speech Award Ceremony showcases the final SIX “Official Selection” films, a full screening of the ONE final Free Speech Award-Winning film, and an in-depth discussion with its Director. All of these events are recorded, co-promoted, and featured in perpetuity on our websites below.
