The argument between Maresca and Slot is ill-conceived. It is easier for someone to inherit a rusty car and having funds to change the rusty parts than to inherit a decent vehicle with the mandate of figuring out how to run the vehicle. It is a flawed argument anytime I hear that Slot is still playing Klopp's style. It shows that you always watch just moments in games. How come you never talk about the substantial time Liverpool players now spend behind the ball defending collectively (we never saw this with Klopp and Liverpool was very easy to play through). What about the more structured way Liverpool plays now? The in game management? Cherry picking the fast counter style similar to Klopp's style and attributing same to Klopp is very disrespectful of what Slot has done for that team. This is a guy that came from a league where not many coaches come from and succeed in England. He has come into that team and managed the ego of all the established players. I also heard that he didn't develop Salah. Development is relative here and numbers don't lie. We need to try not to argue based on emotions. Why not benchmark the stats for individual players for last season with this season? Maybe using the word "improve" is not the most appropriate but he has gotten these players back to their best and he's done with with grits, man management, and clearly communication. Not to take anything away from Maresca but he's had the opportunity to buy a team that will fit into how he wants to play. I would rate him better if he has actually made any existing player in Chelsea better or atleast back to their best. This is a Coach that couldn't deal with the ego of a number of players in the team! Come on!
