If I ever get to the level of owning something like this I’d like a setup just like this. I don’t know about other people but I’d like to get myself and friends and family trained up and able to pilot a ship like this all alone so there’s no need for a crew. Which is why I like this yacht because it’s laid out as if the owner may have piloted it himself.
@whatta7793 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. This just screams a full family living aboard and working as a team. Hopefully my kids are capable whenever I hit retirement age, we may just aim for something like this after all of the kids are out of school. Maybe not this big, but similar and around 80-100 feet.

What an awesome yacht and presentation! I love that the owner specifically likes to hang out and interact with the crew. I am a big fan of the open/country kitchen. Now, if it were 150' and had inverted bridge windows, it might be perfect for my _not yet acquired_ millions to be spent on. ;)

Ill take the princess y85 for sure! More home feeling! Less maintenance less docking fees less crew costs! Who wants more than 8 people for the weekend! The princess y85 is a stunning machine! Room for 2 jet skin's and tender and probably more range at low speed! This boat could need millions spent to make it your own and millions in repaires when she gets a little older! I want to captain my yacht with my boys and family! No crew ! Just family and many great memories!! Just my opinion!! Happy sailing all 🛥⚓

What a fantastic yacht. I like the fact that the crew was always mixing with the family on board. I feel that the accommodations for the crew are as important as the salary for the crew. Great accommodations and pay would make crew turnover lesser I would think. The yacht is a great design for a family. I love the extra bedroom for the parents. Great way to be able to bring them aboard and enjoy it as well. Shame I N not one of those “qualified individuals”

If you have fantastic crew you don't want to hide them! There apart of the journey and the character of the vessel! And the main deck has no compromises! Sir, again a masterful presentation and informative walk-through, you are superb! Faultless! I easily noted your excitement and enjoyment of presenting a wonderful yacht whose design and philosophy was different from the standard somewhat boring formula and to my mind, often dysfunctional for my needs which includes being a live aboard owner and the paid crew are there to do their duty when needed and simply part of "the family" when off duty, free to relax wherever and sit around the big dining table when we eat, laugh and plan the next day. Maybe this is from being a Kiwi, egalitarian, not giving a shit who you are or pretend to be. That layout and decor was pretty amazing. A clever designer and builder to note. A couple of grumps, I note that you deliberately omitted to mention range performance so I'd guess this yacht is a day cruiser or only capable of sailing across the harbour and back again, so basically useless. The galley/country kitchen looked great but a little small and under-equipped. I like to eat.

A more general question David; Do you expect the European market for (mega) yachts will be seriously effected by the sanctions on Russia regarding the Ukraine conflict? I feel like wealthy Russians make up a large portion of the European buyers. I can imagine it being a problem if they cannot enjoy their yachts in the south of France.

A very nice boat but you think the design could try a little bit harder on these boats if removed all the tables and chairs it be almost empty unless people like sitting around all day which is really not my scene. I was looking forward to seeing the engine room but it was over before you started. But I must give it 10 out of 10 with arrangements with the crew I never understand owners not wishing to see the crew they part of the boat

Question.If one of the crew from Captain to stewardess through either illness or family emergency need to vacate the yacht,what is in place to temporarily fill their duty.ie is ther an agency that will provide crew hire?.
@Howard.Stern.2 жыл бұрын
You can find someone through an agency or management company to fill a position. Depending on where you are you might need to fly them out. If you have rotational crew someone could come back or work early as well. Typically the captain would handle that on a yacht like this and never the owner. The owner might not even need to know the details of why someone left.
