There's this special thing about the way Frieren recalls Himmel. For someone who's been around for over a thousand years and is accustomed to time flying by, we can see how much she hold onto those tiny moments they shared (+ the hero party) It's just so lovely, yet filled with the heartbreaking realization of a love recognized way too late. Delving into Himmel's character through Frieren's memories, especially as she discovers more about humanity, is a delightful surprise every time. I couldn't help but think that the memories left behind by someone, truly is something so precious to be held by the person it was left for This reminds me of how my father used to take so much pictures and records of our family having fun, always asking why he keeps taking pictures and recordings everytime we're having fun. Only to realize that all of these pictures and moving memories of the past are the golden essence of our lives, it was only when my father passed away that we realize.. the memories he's been leaving for us, the hard work he's been doing for us, and the smiles he has left for us, is so that we won't be so lonely the moment he passes away Himmel wasn't trying to pose so the statues would look cool. He did so only to make the statues emmit a similar energy of emotion Himmel always gives off back when he was alive. He did so to remind Frieren of a certain part of the memory their party once shared in that place. He did so to remind Frieren, that Himmel was once alive.
