They're gonna have Joel Kinnaman playing a 120 year old character that somehow is still one of the only 20 astronauts available on the planet by the end of this. But seriously, as long as the plot points are related to the challenges of space and not a bunch of strange personal issues that somehow got overlooked when picking people for missions, this looks like it will be a good season.

@@peraltarockets While interpersonal issues will crop up any time you have people doing something together, they've typically been the weakest elements of For All Mankind. Particularly Danny's obsession with Karen last season, but even before that the Baldwins' daughter and her adoption angst, or Ellen's gay angst. The only 'personal issues' story that was okay was Gordo and Tracy's divorced life in season 2, and the only reason that was at all worthwhile was the flat-out great resolution to it. Without the way that plot ended it would have been just as dull as the rest.

It was pretty unbelievable that Danny would have passed psych eval’s and even when he was on mission, you have a known addict in the crew and you’re not securing the drug stash after you just gave him painkillers, let alone it should be secured at all times under the authority of an established medical crew member anyway. This is where the show falls down. Either be a serious space drama where the technical and professional aspects of the elite are met or just do personal drama. You can’t be so excellent and then just fudge it for drama purposes. The whole relapse on Mars thing was hard to take. Especially a commander who couldn’t see obvious signs from someone he knows had substance abuse history. It was also hard to believe he would still be obsessed over Karen for years afterwards.

All "space colony" stories on TV and movies either stop short of the actual colonization, or skip the colonization part and move straight to how the colony was destroyed or how colonies fought against each other. For once I want to see a TV show take a detailed look at how a disparate group of humans gradually set aside their earthly differences to come together to build a life across generations in an inhospitable planet or alien biosphere against insurmountable odds. Like adaptation of the Mars trilogy of books. Or may be an offshoot of The Expanse about how Mars and the asteroids or the Ring planets were colonized. Some shows that were promising like NatGeo's Mars, HBO's Raised by Wolves, BBC's Outcasts were cancelled way too soon. Oasis never moved beyond a pilot movie despite being well received. So, I have high hopes that this season will finally make it happen.

I've just finished a complete rewatch of the first 3 Seasons in preparation for Season 4 & I cannot wait now 👏🏻... We are definitely getting to the point where I think this is the Final Season for Ed, Danielle & Margo however but they have one hell of a story for us to witness before they go. I didn't say faster than light. There are plausible ways to make generation ships utilizing asteroids an advanced fusion drive and microclimate technology. By stardrive, I mean getting a thrust system to sustain for long periods to get to the stars in a relatively short amount of time.@@aldunlop4622

I wonder who manufactured all this new space stuff (Mars space station, big space refinery, Mars colony, interplanetary transfer craft and landers). It can't be all from Helios but they must have really put aside their differences to produce all this cool stuff together.
